Thinking of a CB...help?!

So I was thinking about getting a CB since they are relatively cheap and are a great tool to have on the road so I was thinking the Uniden PRO520XL since it is compact....questions tho...antenna? where to mount both the antenna and CB? and does neone have ne install pics they could share? thanks...

CB: Good choice with the 520.
Antenna: Little Wil (made by Wilson) seems to be the best choice (and it is IMO) between performance/looks/price.


Best place... centered right smack dab on your roof.
2nd best... right in the center of your trunk, provided it is grounded fairly well...

Exactly what I have, except didn't pay for the PA option, so I have the 510XL and Lil Wil.

Its small enough that it fits where I used to have an ashtray and lighter.

sweet...is the lil wil antenna obnoxiously big? and maybe with some cutting but do you think I could manage to fit the unit in the area of right above the shifter and below the temperature gauge in that open space?

I don't have any great pictures of the antenna, it's about a yard tall. It's pretty thin so it's still not too obvious.

It looks like it should be able to fit in that cubby. The size of the 510XL and 520XL are 4-1/2” W x 6-3/4” D x 1-3/8” H.

If you do place a magnetic mount on your roof, whats the best way to route the coax back into the cabin?

Center of the trunk allows for easier routing for the coax.
