What was your first police scanner?

I was wondering which scanner was your first unit either recently or back in the day? When I graduated from high school in 1993, I got a RS Pro 43. I had people give me money for graduating and when I added some money to the pot, I bought me this nice scanner at the time. The only thing wrong w/ it now is that the scan button needs to be replaced.

Don't remember the brand,Rengency I think, but it was a handheld 4 channel that you had to plug in crystals for each channel. This was around 1980. With that, my 23 channel Craig CB with 102" whip and my old Whistler RD, I was good to go back then.

First Scanner was a Sportys 100 Air VHF and MilAir UHF handheld

Then a Radio shack Pro-94 handheld battery cover needs replacing and it ought to be good to go again

Then the Uniden B996t still in use for my urban and digital areas

Then an Radio Shack Pro-164 use for my analog rural areas and MilAir listening.

Thanks for the pic srtga of that Regency. I have an old 10 channel Regency model # R1070 which works great. The squelch is a little different, but it does the job.

My first actual scanner was the Realistic Pro-6, 4-channel, crystal controlled, handheld VHF Hi/Lo scanner from Radio Shack. The only pic I can find is this one:



I got it in high school, around 1972. Before that, I had two or three different tunable receivers that I used to monitor public safety. I can't count the number of scanners I've had since then. Probably at least a couple dozen different ones.
