Default Do you guys mix and match antenna parts?

Been doing alot of research about MaxRad and Antenex/Laird Technologies.Antenex seems to be the better of the two.My problem is Antenex doesn't make and all black antenna mast/whip,it only comes in chrome. So i found a site that sells Antenex and Larson antennas.I can get the all black Antenex trunk mount TMB8UPI: Antenex/Laird Technologies Mini-Trunk Lid Mount with 17' RG58U Cable, UHF (PL259) Male Crimp (Installed)
then add the Larsen all black antenna Larsen NMO27 [NMO27] - $34.95 : The Antenna Farm :: , Your Two Way Radio Source!
and for when i unscrew the whip i can put on the Antenex antenna cap QWRCB - Antenex (Laird Technologies) Quarterwave rain cap, black
and i should be good right?

No problem. NMO is NMO. Mixing mount and antenna is perfectly fine. I like that mount. What colour is your car?

Thanks brotha.I wanted a sleek look with my cb antenna setup since it won't be in all the time. The Antenex black trunk mount and rain cap along with the Larsen black whip fit the bill perfectly.

Not true. The chrome 27 MHz (CB) antenna is part # C27. The all black version is CB27. I have one. They exist, there just aren't as many retailers who carry it. Blends in nicely on an all black car.

Well got an e-mail back from "The antenna farm".My concern is this they don't carry the Antenex CB27 which is the C27 but in all black. My next options are either to go with a Larson setup which would be this mount and antenna

    OR this mount

and see if the flared bottom of the Larsen whip base doesn't hang over the sides of the Antenex mount.

It probably doesn't hang over. There's usually just like a very thin wall around that base. I wouldn't swear to it though, as I haven't seen the Larsen in person. I do like the looks of the Antenex mount best though. Unfortunately, I can't use a lip mount like that, as my trunk lid is just way too close to the rear window if I even crack it open a little bit.
