free software for scanner?

hey guys well looks like today I will be getting my digi uniden scanner..
I say this cool video on u tube guy talking about 2 different sites.

one site was bctools.org for the free software. then he says something to pay some membership that will make downloading all freq to scanner. and it does it all for u.

if I understand this correct?

or is there something else i should look into

I use FreeSCAN, which is also a free downloadable program for the Unidens. I have good luck with it, and the guy who made it is extremely reponsive and helpful if you run into any problems, which I assure you you will if you're not familiar with scanners.

+1 for FreeScan! You can copy/paste directly from radioreference with it as well which is a plus.

i have all that now trying to get it to work. my scanner is sync with pc so thats good but i can find the dam ez grab menu like in his demo pictures

plus the top of his page that is open is called

assal's free scan

but mine is assal's free scan .9

for the life of me i cant find the ez grab menu any ideas

i was able to get it going .. what i then did was copy and paste the same demo he has to see if i can get it to scanner and it works cool.. but now that i searched the area i want york region the freq are in a different layout so how would i copy and paste them?

Those are the trunking frequencies. Just copy them (start after Primary), and then EZ-grab them into FreeScan when you set up a new "site".
