A new wilson 5000 for $50 is a good deal. I think Sparky sells the 1000 for $70 and the 5000 for $80. And that doesn't include shipping.

You just unscrew the coil and you can stick the whole antenna... wherever you have room; I hope you can put your back seats down because it probably wouldn't fit in the trunk without bending.

I know for sure a CB shop that sells Wilsons should be able to order parts for you.

Bending what? The antenna? pish posh, I cram my 1K mount and all with an extended whip into the back of my Honda Civic coupe... they are made to bend like an SOB... that thing wraps around my subs and amp like a kitten.

I haven't had one problem doing this for the past year or two.

I used to do the same thing. The antenna is flexible, shouldn't be issue. You should see the how much the antenna bends when you are doing triple digit speed.
