Are you asking if that will work as an antenna, or are you asking if that antenna will work as a replacement whip for your base?

The answer to question #1 is yes, minimally.

The answer to question #2 is no.

Fry radio vs pay $5 in shipping and handling charges. Shipping is cheaper.

Miss bear report, get hit with I/O and $200 fine vs pay $5 in shipping and handling charges. Shipping is cheaper.

Good antenna is worth getting to you. Wilson has a list of dealers if there's one near you and in business, and different truck stops will stock a brand or two.

That's a nice radio that deserves a good antenna...

I was able to find a wilson 1000 and a wilson 5000 in my area, mainly just be looking/asking around, just keep your eyes and ears open, maybe even asking around on the air for something used.

you'll find the radio is a waste without a good antenna, depending some on what you want to use it for. for drives and caravans you might be able to get away with something smaller, but as an effective countermeasure, you'll need a little bit of an investment
