I might get a uniden Pro-520 XL and a 4 foot hustler antenna for 69 bucks, brand new peaked and tuned...good deal? And if so is it a good radio?

90% of the whole performance of the CB Radio-Antenna combo is the antenna itself... any CB radio including that PRO520XL would do its particular job BUT do not play with the antenna... the best are the ones of the Wilson series, the very best is Wilson5000 :wink:Originally Posted by Eddieth3king

I think i might pick it up then..do you guys think this antenna is better than the lil wil? or is there any difference at all?Originally Posted by crazyVOLVOrob
generally the larger the antenna the better the range

the hustler is 4 and lil wil is 3...so i am guessing the hustler..plus i would get them for a very good deal..........
Can someone give me a guess, what kind of range I would be getting with the Pro520 XL and the Midland window mount antenna?
I bought the pro520xl as my first CB this summer. Paired it up with a Wilson flex/fiberglass antenna (top-load) w/ an AUGM2L adaptor made for my silverado... mounts just like radio antenna on the driver side =) I understand my mounting position is not the best, nor is my antenna, but it is a clean setup and it does everything I need it to.
The range is good... most communications up to 7 miles away are clear. One night recently I was chatting with a guy on his Magnum radio he was trying to sell, who claimed to be in a town ~18 miles away. Anyway, I'm very happy with the setup and I'm sure it'll prove useful for many years.
SilveradoSS - window mount is gonna have really low range, but I'm not sure of the exact distance
