Not trying to sound like an a$$hole but what really is the point of having a CB? Is it so you can talk to people on the highway and ask drivers/truckers if there is cops ahead?

I use it to get bear(cop) reports, weather and traffic reports. I also I get directions around traffic jams.

Do you have to install the CB into your car? Or can you hang it with suction cups like you would with a RD?
Mine is not hardwired nor do CBs have to be hardwired. My radio sits inbetween the passenger seat arm-rest and powered to my ciggerette lighter...You don't hang it with suction cups you can get a more stealth install if you want. Happya$$ uses a Midland 75-822 which is very portable

Suction cups? No. Velcro might work if you really don't want a more permanent mount in or under the dash or center console. Unlike a RD, a CB radio is generally separate from its antenna. Thus, the radio should be mounted where you can see it but away from the windshield. It should also be low enough and/or secure enough that it won't bonk you in the head if it takes flight.Originally Posted by Radar 4 Ever
