    Default CB antenna for scanner?

OK, I'm resigned to the fact that only a real CB antenna gives sufficient range on CB frequencies. Since I only want one antenna on my vehicle, I'm looking for suggestions on which CB antennas might make for decent scanning up through the 800MHz band (or at least UHF). The one clue I have so far is that a fatter antenna is supposed to provide wider band coverage, so I'm thinking that a fiberglass rod might be better than a metal whip. Load position and length might also matter, but I don't know exactly how. Any suggestions, ideas or experiences?

I have better 800 MHz reception with my stcok duckie than i did when i hook up my Wilson 500 for my scanner. If you got a handheld scanner just use the Seeker 800 MHz duckie it's a great antenna.

BTW you will fry your scanner if you are transmitting from the antenna it it hooked up too

You could try it out though. My CB antenna hooked up to my CB antenna gives great range on CB channels...no so much on other frequencies....Plus i need to transmit to ask where the trap are

well with my t connector I use to hook up two antennas to my scanner. I hook up my RS 800mhz antenna and my Procomm magnetic mount in my car.

At home i use my RS 800 mhz and RS home scanner antenna
