Default Scanner help to find traps?

I have a RadioShack Pro-97 and I have my area's police frequencies, I'm a newcomer when it comes to CB and Scanning, but is it possible to me use my Scanner to find speed traps to test my RX-65 and my laser reception on it?

hardly ever have it warn me of speed traps. But it did let me know I was reported for wreckless driving and excessive speeding once, so i was able to get off the highway before the cop got to me.

Im not going to use it to warn me of impending speeding ticket, I want to locate possibly an area where LIDAR is being used and take my vehicle there to test my RD there.

Command Band- "We have had a report of wreckless driving and excessive speeding with a silver volvo and black firebird, possible 10-20 (drunk driving) by exit ##. Closest unit please repond."

Then a unit about 3 exits behind me said he was responding

Outrun is the only one i know that hears of laser traps on his scanners. I have yet to here an officer tell his location until he is responding to an incident or has someone already pulled over

One reason I have purchased a scanner. I was pulled over for street racing once and would have been warned if I had a scanner. But not like it's a big deal, not much they can do based on a citizen's report unless they saw it themselves. I just repeatedly denied racing, and friend riding with me said to the cop "Come on, it's an escort!". They told me the next town had the car I was racing pulled over.... which they didn't, they had some other random car. I bet that guy was really wondering what was going on.

Depends on where you live in Florida. Ck the radioreference homepage for a list of freqs in your area . Hopefully, they are not all digital or provoice.

ive got a few on mine. but your not going to hear "Yeah were set up at so and so shooting laser". you have to listen in pretty good. the only way i found out about mine is cuz i kept hearing the officer call in "Signal 11's" which is "run-tag" and they were all coming from the same location, so i knew something was up.

I've seen a couple times on bridges a car shooting laser as you get on the bridge and a chase car on the other end of the bridge. That is probably a time you're scanner will help you. He won't say "ok I just lasered mr asswipe over here", maybe like "red Honda hatchback clocked at 95 km/h, left lane, 1 occupant"
