Default Could I use a linear amplifier for my cb????

I've heard that I could use a RM italy KL-203 AMP for my cb radio. But I asked the person selling it on ebay if i could, he said "It possibly could be used for cb but I am not allowed to sell to this item to a cber. As a license Amatuer Radio Operator, the FCC has rules against this that could be serve enough to cause me to lose my lincense. 73" So what I need to know is if I can use this for sure. Anyone that knows please let me know. Cuz I'd hate to buy it and not be able to use it. I just need to know if this kind of amplifier can be use with my cb radio. Thank you!

amplifying a CB is illegal I thought? Just get it tuned and peaked and it will be fine

legal or not, i dont really care. Its not like the FCC is gonna come check my car. And if a cop or something pulls me over, I plan on havng the amp under my seat so he cant see it. so the legal issue doesnt bother me a bit.

Though I may not be transmitting it will still help me recieve farther. I'm just trying to get the most coverage of a speed trap or something.

How many miles do you think I could hear if I just got the uniden pc68xl peaked and tuned? If you can anyway convince me that I DONT need to and just get one and peak and tuned that that will be just fine, then do it. I'd love to save some money. But I'm just trying to get the best to save my *BEEP* So if a amplifier isnt a neccisary, convice me. Would I really get enough advance warning or a speed trap with it just peaked and tuned?

It all depends on the transmitting radio...I have heard an amplified radio for up to 25miles

As for speed traps about every 5-10 miles I inform the trucks going the opposite way what speed traps they face...they inturn will tell me what they saw on my side

ok, well I guess you've talked me out of getting an amp. you along with a few other people, and the fact that I dont really have the money for it. So, no amp now. And I think i'm gonna go with a wilson 500 antenna. Hopefully I'll get enough range to make me happy.
