If I put one more piece of noisy electronic equipment in my car, my woman is outahere! No CB for me.
Yea I agree with a woman in the car the CB should be used with a earpiece, so you can evesdrop on the CB without the vulgar and other negative aspects.

One time my girlfriend was in the car and I had the volume up max and they started talking about "Doneky Shows" in Mexico. We were both cracking up

If that antenna didn't uglify my LS so much I'd consider it... but.
Guys, I'm driving a Lexus. It's just not right to have a big honking antenna cut through the trunk.
Lol, I'm driving a SAAB 9-5!
Same deal. But, I don't care. It's too amazing. Look at my previous threads I started in the CB forum (or ask AirMoore or Stealth Stalker or Ovencleaner)-I was desperately trying to avoid a whip antenna. But I gave in, painted it flat black, and no big deal. You can't even see it unless you're behind the car.
Speaking of the "vulgarity," I am not too worried about the wife, just the kids. This morn as soon as I cranked the car, I heard:
I thought that in the CB community, swearing was frowned upon? No? I know I hear quite a bit even on my puny setup.

swearing has always been frowned upon, but over the years more and more radio rambos are out there hiding behind the mic just waiting to start an arguement and tell someone f-off. Alot of times if you call someone on their vulgarity they just get worse. The negative side of using a CB on a daily basis as a truck driver is you get tired of hearing the BS and inmature people on there, making me turn back my sensativity to hear only within 1/4 mile away. This normally works well unless the mo mo is traveling the same direction withinn 1/4 mile of you. If that doesnt work then its time to take a break for five or 10 to let him get out of range. Turning back the sensativity of your receive is easy if you have a knob labeled rfgain. On Cobras I"ve had, 12 oclock position works well and you will still be able to hear 1/4-1/2 mile.
Theres always the off button when it gets too much and that works really well too!
Good stuff! But you have to take what Alex Roy says with a grain of salt otherwise. "No weaving and no tailgating" my arse. I've seen his videos. What a liar.

Yep that's my biggest gripe and keeping me from a scanner or CB at the moment but this Little Will some of you are referring to is not a half bad looking piece:
btw could an antenna of this nature serve both a scanner and a CB?

And the only time you need it is on highway trips anyhow, so it's not like it's going to get you laughed out of any car shows. Just toss it in the trunk.
