When I first got my X-50 It was mounted high by my sunvisor. It detected a Laser encounter from almost 2 miles away. I thought it was a false alarm untill I sighted the cop. There was minimal traffic...

I totally agree that the 8500 and V-1 are head to head with great Ka detection.
The 8500 X-50 model however beats both of them hands down with outstanding Ka detection.
