Hardwired high (near RVM) is usually a solid place to mount any RD. Laser detection may be reduced in that location but, well who needs an early ticket warning anyway.

What is the anticipated release date of the new unit?
Thanks Red Rocket!
That makes perfect sense. Thank you. Thanks for the tip about the cameras as well.
A few years back I had a bunch of stuff stolen from my car while I was at the gym. Included...
EDIT: Double post.
I want to preface this with saying that I bought my V1 a few years ago second hand. I don't know the serial number but I'll check it out later. I've never returned it to Valentine for a firmware...
Thanks, man. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to the airport in the next few days. :D
I like how one of the lights indicates K/Ka.
I live in Western New York (Buffalo). My work address zip is 14086.
I updated it to the current database after purchasing the subscription. Thing is, I have no idea where any cameras are. Is there anyway I can test the unit? Can I check the database on google maps to...
It was new, never used in the original package with all equipment included. There is nothing used about it. I bought it from a BMW parts dealer online. My guess is they stocked it at their store and...
Thanks. The reason why I believe its an older version (although I bought it "new") was because I bought it on Ebay. I got it for $80 so I'm okay with it not being the newest version. I'll order...
Pics! Pics! Pics!
And it didn't even peep, save for the voice when it turned on. Last update was 12/09 and database is 2.
I will order the subscription but I was expecting something on my 40 mile drive in to work....
I ask because I recently bought my V1 used. I'm the third owner and I'm assuming there has been neglect along the way and hoping a tune will fix.
I'm not planning on leaving the RD exposed to...
From my experience... And other long time members heat will impact a V1.
Anyting a "tune" won't remedy?
Hiyo!
Hardwired high is pretty standard. Mine is mounted to the right of my RVM and wire travels up toward the map lights. You can't see a thing.
Let me know the next time you guys have a shootout. I'll hopefully have a LI by then and a car to install it in. :D
That's screaming for attention.
Theft issues I can understand, but heat? The V1 manual reads this for storage temperature: -22°F to +185°F.
I would prefer to have it off to the side and above the RVM than centered and below it. That may just be me though.
Make a jammer??? No...I seen people try but didn't have any luck
I could be wrong but I think he was refering to a kill switch.
I think people have a hard time justifying spending $300-400 on something that they don't even understand. Most people don't research RDs and from my experience most people don't intentionally speed....
I would keep it where it is (or move it to the right of the RVM). Have you tried moving one suction cup up or down to account for the curve? At any rate, a curve in the windshield shouldn't affect...
It's one of the Pilot Light Settings. Instead of it reading "Highway" it will have an H and a dot that scans along. It's one of seven different options.
Have you checked out the manual?
