its an e39 - I called valentine today and they told me I could send it in, but she wasn't clear if it would cost money or not "we have to see it before we will know"...my warranty expired on the 7th...
So I was driving to work again on Friday....same thing happened at nearly the EXACT same spot on the highway!! The alert continued for the rest of my drive (15 mins) and into my work parking lot! The...
I went out to my car for lunch and it was fixed....interesting. Yes, before I tried covering the rear reciever and it had no effect...was like my unit was just fritzing out.....strange this hasn't...
Thats what I thought it was at first, then it persisted all the way into my work parking lot....there were no cars behind me. This must be some kind of error... :(
Do you know if Valentine is...
Driving to work today I started getting a strong and clear laser warning from the rear. It then persisted for the next 20 minutes with only small interruptions. This can't possibly be correct as I...
not gonna lie...kindof funny to see all the over protective v1 owners get pwned by the actual USERS MANUAL!!
wow you guys are some angry people!
Personally I don't think 400$ for a detector that can consistantly save me from 400$ tickets is a lot of money. I'm going to leave it mounted all the time. I...
I get that you guys are very protective of your V1s....but seriously, the V1 is made up of the same solder and circuit boards that most all electronics are made of. I am surprised that most of you...
well I am never in an area where my car would be broken into. How serious is the threat of the sun?
will the sun do any damage to the V1? Its getting pretty hot these days....what do you guys think?
M5?????
I have the same thing
I <3 <3 <3 my e39 m5 :)
good post...so if you're not on the highway, laser is really rare?
well if the V1 is saving people from laser than I guess I will be getting one....I am just worried about the trend of cops switching to all laser, might make the v1 useless in NJ!
so 5 times over how many days of driving?
Are you on the fence about getting a detector or not? Or you deciding between a v1 and something else?[/QUOTE]
getting a detector or not...I already have a PBA card so I just don't know if its...
Well this info definitely helps....where did you get those numbers from? I mean you've driven through jersey a lot with you v1...how many times have you been hit with laser?
So if NJ is switching to primarily laser....why should I bother with the V1....
I'm really on the fence about it, I have the money and the car for it...but I just don't know if I will appreciate...
but to be clear...
what is the point of the V1 even having laser detection? Seems like it is really good at radar and offers no protection against laser...is this correct?
wow interesting...I might be able to make it for that
so basically the V1 offers NO defense against laser?? Once it tells you about it your already done?
What's the point of even having one, when I'll always be worrying if a cop is using laser???
Any of you jersey guys have experience with laser? Does it buy you any time if your valentine receives scatter from cars in front of you?
Hi all,
I was told to not even bother with a radar detector in north jersey because "most of the cops use laser".
Now I don't really want to deal with a laser jammer, so how effective is the...
