So what did he say to the judge???????????????????????
Did anyone else catch the irony of this? Sounds like they're writing tickets just so they can pay overtime.
Looks???? You don't like how it looks? You're not supposed to be looking at your RD...YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE KEEPING YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD AHEAD OF YOU!!!!
Maybe a 9500ix Gamer Edition is what you're...
Huummphhhh.... All RD's sleep, all RD's miss shots, and you can get a ticket with any RD. My Redline has been the most reliable out of all the detectors I own. First V1: had 5-6 instances where the...
YTCD, Around town in familiar territory I turn the volume on my V1 down so I can just barely hear it, and let the STi-R+ do the heavy lifting. Out on the road, then the V1's volume goes up.
When...
You wern't reading the Guys of Lidar website. Here's their RDD tests and the bottom of this pageRadar Detector Tests and Reviews by Guys of LIDAR - LASER
Absolutely do not turn off X-band in OH or IN. It is alive and well there. After NJ, OH is probably the state with the most X-band. I have encountered X in IN.
I can't comment on your particular detector because I don't own one, but I will say that trust comes from experience with a particular detector, and experience comes with time--weeks and months. A...
It's not tint per se, it's metallic-based tints that cause problems.
Another way to answer this is by comparing CD reception to radar detector range. Long, straight and flat = long distance reception. Short, curvy and hilly = short reception distance. And, as Cooljay...
I tested my Redline against a Spectre and even when the Spectre was held up agains the windshield 1" from the Redline, it did not alert. For comparison, my V1 was detected at 115', slightly off axis.
The Redline lost something like 50% of it's sensitivity under all conditions. Weak off-axis false alerts went un-detected. At the time, there were something like 12 different K and X falses on my 12...
You'll also need to learn what radar guns X, K and Ka are used in your area. Assume Ka is always a LEO, K might be a LEO, X is rarely a LEO...unless you live in OH or NJ.
Having the range of the Redline bit with working rampup would be really nice--I hate getting on the brakes unless it's truly necessary. BS and RDR on my STi-R+ definately increases it's reactivity;...
How far apart did you have the 2 RD's when you had them on at the same time? When I ran both 6"-10" apart, the Redline went deaf and dumb; when I put them on opposite corners of the windshield, then...
Mine falses the most on overcast days with light cloud cover when the sun is lower in the sky, as in late morning and late-afternoon, but it would also false when hit with direct sunlight on bright...
When I had POP enabled on my V1, I got quite a few J-outs, maybe 2-3 a week. One, unfortunately was a LEO sitting with C/O Ka, and the V1 J'd it for the better part of 2 miles and 4-5 traffic...
Just to be clear, the test you are referring to was done using foam, correct?[/QUOTE]
Yes, with foam. otherwise we'd have needed a 2-4 mile course.
As far as sensitivity goes, my Redline actually has a slight edge on my STi-R+. Do you have more than one vehicle? If so, a windshield mount would be more useful than an installed unit.
One thing...
For those who are sitting in the sidelines reading this thread, wondering if they can trust RD tests done with foam in front of the radar gun, here's my experience:
Myself and another forum member...
Regular LI's should do just fine on your rig. Two heads do just fine on the front of my F250 (but I had to put 4 heads on to cover the rear.) I've never been shot in the rear, but I don't consider...
I'm sure you could come up with some sort of retractable system...but there's no need to. Learn to quickly slow down to the speed limit when you are hit; then shut the jammers off. That allows the...
Move...to a place speeding is legal, so you don't need jammers, or to a place jammers aren't illegal?
I have lived in and used LI's in a state where jammers are illegal for over two years, and...
Be aware that Infiniti's (the brand of car) use a laser-based cruise-control system, and that can set off LI's, or anything else that detects laser. Local red light camers often set off my LI's, too.
Link to pic doesn't work.
