This is true if you are near the ocean we also have the Coast Guard.
I have never heard any FRS conversations. Works great for news media traffic reports.
Nice little unit has pre-programed frequencies good for if you travel between states.
I have listened since:
1973 multiband radio,
1975 First scanner Regency (Crystals)
1971 CB Radio
You get more than just police: You can get the following: Fire dept. Government agencies Federal and State, aircraft, news media, Coast Guard, Ham radio, CB radio and Military. It's nice to know...
Sorry but you shoulkd like you have no idea of antenna design, or looked at the antenna designed...They are both different...
I can tell you the Lil- Wil is a very strong small antenna[/quote
...
Your town doesnt use any police k band? That seems strange.
no but the grocery stores do.
I would hope you would be happy.
Don't lie, you know the real reason you switched...you liked the arrows.

 But of course I do and the feature of how many radars may...
If it is for a scanner then the Wilson Y881 Super-Gainer antenna is the best handheld you can get. It will attach to your radio just like the rubber duckie.
That is the legal maximum output that is legal. If you get some boots then you are talking about some power with linear amplifier. like maybe 100 watts or so:D
For the most part without risking a...
CB? Comic Book Radio...Is it really useful when I was on in the old days before 1975 when the rage went wild and CB went downhill and so did the prices, all I got was skip and over crowded channels....
You would get better performance with a magnetic mounted antenna like Antenna Specialists Mon 51. Those little antennas that mount onto the window are no different than using a handheld antenna...
You would need to get the specs from the Radio Shack antenna for a fair comparison. In general though Wilson specializes in antennas so I would prefer that then again just take a look at both...
Must be poor connection because there is a noticeable difference in performance with a telescope antenna vs. rubber duckie.
Head for the hills, high ground the more elevation you have the better signal will be.
Scanners have many uses other than listening to police or fire. You can listen to news media aircraft reports and find out where the collisions are or congestion firsthand so you can avoid that...
Get a multi-band antenna that covers all frequencies besides you won't be transmitting.
I agree mine has been flawless and it is the 3.826. No falses and good detection range. Wait until there is a significant break through or difference.
All I can say is from the rear it picks them up way way back there. It is sufficient.
All J means is that there is a Junk detector emitting waves like a Cobra or Whistler.
I sold the Whistler 1776 because there just were too many falses. Very happy with V-1 3.826 version.
3.851 is the best V1 I have had but then again 3.826 was pretty good. The best part of 3.851 is the fact that ghosting seems to be a thing of the past and how *BEEP* quiet it is.
How can...
Same here I drive on L Mode with the X and K band off only laser and Ka bands so I don't get any falses it is very quiet unless there is a LEO around. .826 is working great how could it get any...
So at this point in time there is not much difference between the 3.851 and the 3.826? Not worth the extra $$$? How about KA band? Any noticeable difference in performance on KA band?
Right now...
It's a 3.826 version so how much of a difference between this one and the updated one?
