    Re: Those with Savvy....

Does anyone know if there's a splitter available to run two accessories from one OBD port? I have a Garmin Ecoroute already connected and would like to run a savvy.
  2. Re: Does lean angle impact effectiveness of jammers on bikes?

The few times I've met a cop in mid-corner while riding "enthusiastically", they've been far too slow to even trigger their radars before I'm past. But our roads are usually much twistier than your...

    Re: 9500ix on my Yamaha

I've adapted a Givi multi purpose mount designed for cell phones. It's cheap and offers several mounting options. I also have the V1 audio adapter plugged into a Blu Virtu bluetooth hub that...
  4. Re: Any Kiwis ( New Zealanders ) found the new Speed vans yet?

The new vans have Redflex cameras running K band. They are very hard to get decent warning range on. My V1 gives about 100 metres.
Turn on K band and put up with the falsing.
  5. Re: The best Radar Detector for the RedFlex K- band photo radar ????

I get around 100 metres warning with my V1 (3.872). It's not enough for open road speeds so I rely on the MK 1 eyeball.
Luckily our camera vans are quite easy to spot and there isn't many if them.

    Re: Calling Kiwi Radar freak's

If you're missing them, come up to Nelson. They're likes flies on a sheeps arse.
Otherwise, there have been cutbacks on frontline patrol cars around NZ. I guess the cops are concentrating on urban...

Re: Lazer and real success on your bike

I use a jammer that's around 10 or 12 years old. It was sold here as a Masterblaster. This unit has saved me more times than I can count.
When I first got it the local cops weren't aware of jammers...

That's the other option, but it will reduce the room in the bag.

I was hoping someone had knowledge of the paint issue.

    Thanks anyway.

    Metallic paint

There's talk of detectors becoming illegal here. If so, I want to hide the V1 inside the fairing panels of my bike.
The question is, the paint is a very subtle metallic finish, it can only be seen...

    Re: LEO as a Rabbit?

Our New Zealand cops are just as likely to take your licence number and post you a ticket. We also have owner liability, so someone always has to pay.

    Re: V1 randomly restarting

That's almost certainly interruption to the power supply. I've had it happen a few times in the past. Try a new power cord or jury rig a power socket and use the cigarette kighter plug.

Re: Further analysis of the V1 performance at GOL 2009

Excluding the unit with Ka guard off negates the analysis as far as I'm concerned. I have Ka guard off all the time and falses are minimal where I drive/ride. This may differ for others, but having...

Re: Anyone ever got a ticket by fault of the V1?

26 mph over the limit in a construction zone? Clearly you have nevr worked in that situation. There's a time and place for speed, that wasn't one of them.

    V1 and vibration

I have my V1 on an anti-vibration mount on my personal bike. But has anyone had reliability issues with their V1 on rigid mounts on bikes or, say, behind the grill in a car?

    Re: Input on placement?

They have a variety of other mounting systems too.

It's a masterblaster or some such, I've had it for years. It'll jam down to 50 metres or so. It's on my bike which is a harder target for laser anyway.
Judging by some cops facial expressions it...

My previous 'fat' V1 was a chatty little bugger. Then I turned off X and K bands when our cops stopped using them.
I turned them off when I received my current V1 too. Recently our cops got Redflex...

    Hi from NZ

Hi all, this is a seriously interesting forum.
I'm in sunny Nelson, South Island, aka bikers heaven.
I've been using detectors since I left our Traffic Police in 1984 and lost my natural immunity....
