Odd, my father-in-law reported that with his X50 a month or so ago. I had owned one many years ago when they first came out, and I don't recall that problem. Does anyone know what the cause may be?
While I can see your predicament, the higher, the better as far as range goes.
FWIW, I haven't encountered X band in years, anywhere in the northeast. Most towns seem to run K or Ka, and LIDAR on the highways. The town I worked for was a member of a "LEC" in MA and there was a...
Where is the radar unit? All I see is a blurry screenshot from a video, with what appears to be an MDT display and a Federal Signal brand light/siren controller above it.
Judging by the caption,...
Welcome!
While I no longer live in MA, a lot of my family does, and there is not much that I miss!
In order for that to work, I believe the wavelength of the LIDAR would have to be within the visual spectrum of wavelengths that the NVD is capable of viewing.
OOoooook...what do you need to know?
Well, what are your goals and what do you want to hear? We need more info before we can help you.
If you are, for instance, going to be stuck somewhere for a day and may be bored out of your mind...
My two latest V1s were both bought under that offer. Neither one has ever had an issue. I have had one of them for about a year, and the other for about two years.
There are no easy answers to most of your questions. All of these things have to do with multiple factors, mostly centered around the antenna.
Some things to consider:
Antenna quality,...
Когда я читал название, я первоначально думал, что Вы сказали <<Шилку>>, зенитная система zsu23-4!
I am a RD fan. However I was looking for something potentially "alien," either a ship or a life form. Didn't even glance at the windshield, but now I see what you mean...
What are we supposed to be seeing? There is so much of what appears to be glare on the windows, that I can't pick out anything interesting. Only guess I have is that silver shape that looks vaguely...
Do you want a single antenna for receiving? Or one for the scanner, and one for the CB?
Just for receiving, I would make a dipole and hide it in the roll bar. Heck, you could probably do a true...
I couldn't resist...

If length is an issue, you can never beat the Antenna Specialist MON series for low band performance. They are out of production but easy to find on eBay or radio sites. I think the only difference...
The thing with mounting remotely would still be the issue of signal loss in a long run of mic cord.
Come to think about it, somewhere, possibly RadioReference, a person went through the trouble...
Actually, it wouldn't be hard at all, they are just two pots, usually mounted on a small board directly behind the faceplate, or on little metal divots.
There are a few radios on the market with all of the controls in a slightly larger-than-normal mic, with the final RF deck mounted remotely.
Some radios also have channel up/down buttons on the...
Do you mean on-glass adhesive, or a BNC jack on a little u-shaped thing that mounts on the edge of the glass?
On-glass ones are a compromise at best. I would stay away from them.
I have...
I heard the same complaints, until the day we were in a hurry to get somewhere (because she took too much time getting ready), and if it wasn't for the scanner, we would have been caught in a huge...
Very interesting concepts.
Keep in mind having room for emergency vehicles to access the front of the building and maneuver as needed. In the event of a significant incident, fire, EMS, and LE...
Being the electronics geek that I am, I just had to have one of these units to play with, so I got one.
They seem to be very weak K band emitters, tested with two V1s (one brand new, and one sent...
My pleasure.
With 800MHz, unless you know for a fact that you are monitoring simplex, the repeater inputs are 45MHz below the output. Many sites list only output freqs. Generally, the outputs...
