    Re: CB Receiving Range

Depends on the car and what you want to do, most cars direct to battery is best as it helps get a cleaner electrical signal, in my car add-a-fuse worked better. Also need to consider if the radio...

    Re: CB Receiving Range

Thank you all. I'm going to buy the radio/antenna/SWR meter all within the week. One ticket save from a CB pays itself off, and it's fun to just listen to chatter on long drives.

    Next question:...

    Re: BEL 995 set up

The V995 is definitely a solid detector. I had POP off as well as X-Band when I had mine. I upgraded to a V1 though, much faster reaction, higher sens, etc, and arrows. Don't get me wrong though the...

    Re: CB Receiving Range

Thank you. I guess I won't "peak" it but will tune it myself. You've answered my questions well. I'll keep looking around for shops in that area.

    CB Receiving Range

I've read the stickied thread about half a dozen times and want to know a few things still.

  14. Re: Does the STi-R+ have better range than V1 and redline?

You don't have to adjust your testing for me. I'm just pointing out to people like NormSky that are looking for every opportunity to annoint the V1 as the new king, that doing so based upon these...
  15. Re: Does the STi-R+ have better range than V1 and redline?

We can agree the V1 is the king of Instant On and QT with Guard Off and POP enabled. Its range is close to the + and if not better in some cases. For 3x the money you get RDR, (Ka Guard ON), Band...

Check Craigslist. Your best and safest bet is VR's site. You'll get the .891 which everyone seems pleased by.

Re: V1 been cooking something up!

Could it be the appropriate user manual? I'm paying $399 for something with hidden features, I'd like a manual. :-)
  22. Re: Just picked up a V1 3.813 for $75 on CL and a 3.872 with C.D. for $100 this weeke

Get a tune up on one (.872), and an upgrade to a 3.891 on the other. Do some testing :-)

NY staties do it all the time. And when they are not doing that, they are on their dash laptop or personal cell phone on traffic enforcement.

    Re: 3.891 upgrade now available

I agree,if a person with a V1 doesn't visit this site then they won't know about new features because VR doesn't come here. It was because of this site that we all found out. Furthermore when people...

    Re: Easy question

No. Vibration is normal, just make sure it stays level and on-axis, aka pointing straight ahead.
