Until other companies figure out how to churn out $30 detectors, Cobra will be number one. While they're not highly regarded by enthusiasts, I'm willing to bet their sales show different.
It would probably work against whatever was out at the time it was made, not new stuff.
Older RMRs are worse than Cobra. Actually for that matter certain older Cobras are better than new ones at least on K range. I've borrowed a modern cheapy Cobra and tested it and it wasn't as good at...
If anyone was curious I did drive around with it a few times. It is a pain to remember to put it in super sensitive mode every time you're on the highway. It almost never falses on city. K band...
I think it is getting beyond rediculous but that is me. Doesn't help when I see two kids at Wal-Mart the other day buying $39 Cobras either. Seems like every dozen or so cars, especially when I'm...
Highway I'd get whatever gives longest range, V1, Redline. You didn't say what kind of car it was so check to make sure it doesn't have a metalized windshield otherwise go the remote route. Whats...
Testing one would provide closure on the issue. Like the CT-12 laser jammer, you never really know unless you try it in that case the product actually has some merit for its cheap price. In this case...
I wouln't buy a quantity unless they are fcc certified.
Well I've got the V1 to compare it to. I've got a remote RMR unit (which blows majorly on K band but is fairly decent on Ka). I have several Escorts including a relatively new Solo, my wife's Bel,...
Company is still around, making CCTV systems and HID conversion kits. Found the receipt and instructions, purchased for 70% off practically right after it came out during Sun TV's closing sale for a...
I remember when I last drove with it its K band performance was at least in line with whatever else I was using at that time in my other cars.
It had one of the better visor clip mounts, a bent...
Was digging through a box of car stereo equipment from my old F150 in the basement and low and behold I found my old Cosmo 1000! I last actively used this thing back in 2005 or so, I bought it when...
I'd be curious how many Cobra sold due to cheapness or RMR due to their marketing tactics.
Heads of the wired version are slightly thicker, not a lot just slightly, if anyone considers it due to the thin heads. The 4 head version is only $199 for the wired which is fairly cheap. Hard to...
I'm not really concerned with the detection range, I'm sure it won't hold a candle to my V1. Assuming they still had the detection portion built around that weird copper antenna setup they source...
I'm not going to buy one to test the theory, but if it did work and was applied to other detectors it might be beneficial. We all know someone will buy and test the claim. While I am skeptical, the...
Boredom got the best of me, so I looked up this Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) technology that RMR is touting with this Phantom T. The technology seems like a good idea for the...
5 seconds? Their early 1990s models had bettet K band ranges.
My concern is the wireless version isn't going to perform as well as a wired version. It might give an indicator but I see the potential for electrical interference.
Haven't really run across many falses on the wired version. Falsed once on an EzPass lane but that was about it (for some reason they reangled the cameras or changed them because sometime last year...
Still be intetesting to know if it works against something.
Well some of them are USA made, or at least assembled... Wal-Mart likes to sell USA made things.
As far as cheap? They're not really cheap. Quite overpriced for what they are. When I reviewed...
$100 wouldn't cover the cost of this thing. $400 would, but you would only profif if you win, and not much at that unless they have a money back guarantee. Who wants to take the risk?
I have a phazer 3 I bought for $6 or something, I would not mind filming a video.
