I would have to say that the officer was pulling over cars on a 10+mph basis. Therefore, at 80mph you were still in his grace zone and avoided a ticket.
Just my thoughts.

I think "SOY" = So
Calgary COPS only use Laser for "manned" speed enforcement. A few undercover traffic cruisers have KA band units in their vehicles but I have never encountered Instant On with these units as of yet...
I tried searching for something along this topic but with no luck. I know that laser guns are more effective at night because of less sunlight interference. With that in mind does a laser jammer work...

Sorry to be bothersome, but does this in vehicle system have an variance in time to acquire speed when they are operating in stationary and moving mode?
What about Kustom's Eagle II Series Radar, how fast does that aquire a speed using Instant On mode?
That is pretty good. One of the recent SML tests I was reading picked up a Vette (grey/silver) at around 1100 feet with Lidar.
Not good news for me though, Calgary Cops only use Ultralite...
Thanks Jim, you have confirmed my fears. Looks like I'll be saving up to buy a laser jammer. It's just too bad about Instant On, I drive a lot of undivided 2 lane highways outside of the city it...
That's what I figured about Instant On but that's good to know about laser. Define long ranges on laser >1000'?
Just curious if anyone on the board has experienced receiving a laser alert and slamming the brakes to aviod a ticket. I recently encountered a laser trap in the city where I was over the speed limit...

No it was not raining and there were no Infinity FX35/45 vehicles on the road. It was just me and the Grand AM
I was driving out of the city last night with my highbeams on along a two way undivided highway. I had been driving for about an hour or so without seeing a car coming in the opposite direction so as...
The idea is cool and all. But a GPS is the last thing I want in my car. There's already too much big brother monitoring and recording my speed.
How about:
"Friends don't let friends drive cobras"
haha j/k stang guys!
Unless they are 03/04 cobras
I'm waiting for the 2007 GT500 Stang, OH BABY!
I was driving on an undivided highway doing about 20 km over the limit and an FX45 was coming the other way, V-1 started screaming and I locked up the brakes. Then I realized it was probably that...
I'm not too concerned about photo radar as I am laser for two reasons. 1. I can (99%) spot a photo radar on the side of the road. 2. The main reason I want to protect against laser is that a laser...
Thanks for the compliment. I generally see the Police firing laser between 500 and 1000ft. I don't think they aim farther than that because traffic is usually pretty steady in the city.
As for...
Hi everyone,
I didn't really know what topic to post this under so if it's wrong please move it. Anyways I would like your opinion on my setup regarding laser encounters. I have a Baltic Green Jetta...
Good luck trying to pass someone on an undivided highway. I'd be sure to rip that thing out've my car if it happened here.
Amen to that :D
That is generally not the motor oil's fault if changed during regular intervals, but the engines PCV breather that fails after time.
My dad has a Bel 980 and has never had a problem with their customer service. He has sent his detector in twice, once for warranty and once for a firmware upgrade and has never had a complaint. I...
Try the TV remote trick, I don't know how I figured that one out but it definetly makes me feel confident that my V1 is working at detecting Laser.
In Alberta, Canada radar detectors are legal. I recently bought a V1 and Veil (from Roy) and am extremely impressed with the V1. It has already paid for itself, 3 saves on the highway with Constant...
