Maybe he is trying to use the V1 wire on the PA/JAM switch to connect it to his PC. If so, he needs a whole new cable like the one shown in post #2.

They have done something. I recently ordered a second hardwire kit for my wife's car and it's a lot smaller than the one that came with my V1.
