Hi all,
Been a while since I last logged here in but my LI has saved me quite a few times over the past few years (still currently installed on my Honda Pilot). A long article that would be.

I noticed that there is a newer more powerful 8.9 version of the LI heads.
Can two of these newer stronger 8.9 LI heads be added to a 8 version cpu with two of the previous 8.8(?) heads?
Will...
It has been quite a few weeks now and I am still running both my Redline and my V1 together.
I have to add to this thread (and it should come as no surprise to anyone in the know) that some recent...
Maybe so - but at least on those two cases it was not noticeable interference. Each detector behaved for all practical purposes the same whether the other one was on or not.
Still a bit odd - I drove 600 miles in California to Reno, Nevada and back middle of last week (between Xmas and New Year).
I only saw a few LEO's the whole way - a fraction of what I normally see...
I'm in California and I drive here a lot through the Sierra's - lot's of hilly winding roads up there BTW. The LEO's really like those long fast curves on the downhill side of the mountains.
Your...
Regarding the "off-axis" claims. I'm in CA too and drive a lot in the Sierra's with winding roads everywhere and CHP hiding around curves shooting Ka band.
Comparing my Redline and V1 - I am just...
Wow - you have owned both before and you want a Redline?
I can think of several reasons why I would take the V1 if I had to be limited to having only one:
1. Cheaper by $100+
2. Better - more...
Perhaps it is your police uniform?
Nobody in my experience is using POP - so I'd just forget about it if I were you. You are much more likely to get struck by lightning.
But IMO anything that filters out those traffic speed sensors...
Not sure about your own "hood" but around here (I'm in N. CA) they have seemed to almost disappear for several days before and right after Xmas day.
Recently I have been trying to compare my new...
Try simply phoning them for issues or a special request like that.
I did to get my packages shipping number and they were very courteous and friendly to me on the phone. No problems at all.
I have had a total of 4 Escort Passports over the years and the latest model that I use is the Redline.
I also recently acquired a new Valentine One and I have since been comparing the two side by...
Any RD mounted on the front of the car and not shooting out through the windshield glass will always have an edge over the ones that do (like V1 and Redline).
But look at the price of that thing...
Continuing to compare my V1 and Redline I noticed something else that is IMO VERY significant...
We "suffer" from K-band TSR a lot in my home area and these guns typically discharge a 1-2 second...
If you make a "heat shield" carefully it not only hides it from the sunshine but it also hides it from prying eyes too (which might help you to hang on to it longer).
We are at a cool time of year...
SO, at the risk of hearing the "interference" defense again I have noted that the V1 is now beating the Redline by a few seconds with each genuine Ka encounter since I turned off the V1's Ka guard...
SAVVY does not mute the first startup beeps.
Also each new alert is at full volume for the first one or two beeps (as well as when additional bogeys arrive) when SAVVY is working. You always get...
So, I have an LI and also (brand new) a V1 with the SAVVY cable. I have not connected the V1 to the LI because of these issues that you describe. (See the thread on this)
But also I do not think...
It seems to me that anytime the V1 wins something over the Redline then the cause MUST be interference but if the Redline wins something over the V1 then the cause MUST be that it is a better...
+1 on that. Seeing that unit at least tried would be VERY interesting.
Doubtful IMO. Turning each on and off has made no difference in all my testing so far and they are 4' plus apart.
But even if your theory is correct then the V1 still wins in this scenario for...
Wow... I had a very interesting experience just half an hour ago.
I am still running my V1 and Redline together. I am pulling up to a light in town and there are some strip malls ahead there...
A week into this now and I have only had one or two Ka blips from nearby cars with the V1 (that is with Ka guard off). But Ka reaction time (the most vital thing in CA) seems to be boosted.
But so...
I think SAVVY is simply making the V1 aware of your speed and it assumes that you want it to be louder when you are driving faster.
Which makes sense to me and is a nice additional feature. But is...
