Ka Guard Off and POP On, X off. As long as you aren't around a city, false positives won't be an issue for you. I run those settings in A mode on long roadtrips, and never have problems. Better safe...

I've seen this car a few times. The Cobra is mounted totally vertical and backwards. I have no idea how this person sees the display, or better yet, how the antenna picks anything up! I guess...
I just sent my V1 (just a little over a year old) in for service and they found a loose connector on the motherboard, some RF thing out of whack, and the entire unit generally out of tune.
I take...
I really want a CB, but I live in an area with an astronomical rate of car break-ins. (Someone will smash your window for a few dimes in the cup holder). I almost bought a Uniden 510XL and mounted it...
I was driving on the interstate the other day in a large city and traffic is stopped on the on-ramp. I have my V1 up as usual. I get a laser alert, but think nothing of it. I drive a few more car...
My question is if you leave your V1 in the car overnight? I always take mine down and inside, but it's a little inconvenient sometimes. Does cold weather pose any dangers to the internals?

No need to cut a hole in the tint strip. Unless the tint is metallic it won't affect radar reception. It will affect laser reception, but as I'm sure you've read on here laser detection is almost...
Hi all,
This isn't just another pointless tint thread. I want to know how much laser detection you are sacrificing by mounting the detector behind a 5% band of non-metallic tint on the windshield....
I really think the people bashing this product before they have even tried it need to chill out a bit. It may be an awesome addition to the Escort lineup. I personally don't like trapster because its...
Gotta use an add-a-fuse. It will save you a ton of time and headaches. Those pinch connectors sometimes don't make a good connection, but with the add-a-fuse you are tapped right into your fuse box....
Do be careful about mounting it too close to the RVM, as that can affect range. I noticed putting it a few inches to the left of the RVM dramatically increased the range compared to having it right...
I'm hoping so, the more pressure that can be put on Escort so that they will further advance their detection platform the better! I won't be holding my breath for Cobra though. :D
Whistler has...
Thanks for the suggestions. The only time it J's out is when I am at the stop light on the off ramp about a half/quarter mile from the Ka speed sign. I know it is a legit Ka warning, so I am not sure...
Agreed. No POP from WSP. A Cobra would probably think its POP though. And as far as police hiding near speed signs... guess I will be the first to say it, you should have saved your money on...
My V1 has been working perfectly up until about two weeks ago. I am lucky enough that the town I am living in uses Ka C/O almost exclusively, so I had no problem getting good warnings ahead of time. ...
So I've owned my V1 for about 5 months now and have done over 5,000 miles in road trips with it. It is the single best purchase I have ever made, and I had no idea how awesome the arrows are. When...
Bingo. I am never surprised at these stories, and it's always a Belscort.
The "stupid" ones are the Belscort product designers who keep putting important controls on the top of an RD that should...
Spam, anyone?
The consealed display also includes a mute button which is great when you don't want to be seen reaching up to your rear view mirror when someone is using you as a rabbit or worse a LEO.[/QUOTE]

X is something to watch out for! A lot of people turn it off on their RD for city use, but forget to turn it back on for interstates! PA isn't the only state who has some X band units in use!
I have found that a majority of LEOs, especially state troopers and highway patrol officers, seem to prefer C/O. They still get tons of speeders that way and don't have to mess with remotes and hold...
Awesome info, thanks! I was driving in Kansas today on I-70 and it was totally flat. I got a 2 bogey Ka alert with one LED. It was making noise for a good five minutes until I saw 2 KSP troopers...
I never really understood the point of a V1 concealed display for "hiding" my detectors notifications from the prying eyes of other drivers. The person behind me would have to be pretty dang close to...
Thanks for all the help. Maybe it was I/O; it just surprises me that he didn't light me up if he read my speed. My V1 has the latest software (only 2 months old). Should Ka Guard be off for long road...
Sneaky LEOs in that town! :p
