Where did you track that down at?
So if 3.892 is the new firmware, why did they even release 3.891 to the public?
That's awfully nice of that officer to leave his radar on so you could test :)
Well you are able to shut off bands (X,K,Ka,Laser) on almost all detectors (unless it is really cheap). This turns the whole band off.
However the STiR+ has a special feature called BS or band...
Can I ask what the reason is for not incorporating GPS with the Redline?
I have three guesses:
1. Unit would be too big with M3 horn.
2. Unit cost would be high due to M3 platform plus...
Laser is kind of a misnomer when you compare it to what you normally think of as laser. It is actually LIDAR (which technically falls under the category of laser). Don't picture a laser pointer. ...
You may be on the lookout for 3.891. It seems VR may have stepped it up on the 35.5.
The closer the V1 is to the bottom of the windshield, the better chance of picking up LIDAR as rrftw said.
BUT be careful....
Higher is better for radar reception. Most people, including...
The goodnews is that the V1 is the best laser detector out there.
The bad news... Even the best detector still misses laser sometimes. LIDAR beams can be very small, and it is very hard to...
I'm just glad to hear some progress is being made.
I know I'm saying the same thing as everyone else, but...
An M3 window mount, with GPS, arrows, quick response time, and an accurate ramp up.
Basically: A window mounted StiR+ with arrows. ...
I personally use a V1, but the 9500ix is a very nice detector. My father uses one, and it really does work great.
I'm starting to think it's going to be a while though...
I was just curious to know if the c/s lady actually said a number. She wouldn't acknowledge the numbers I was saying.
No. But their latest software is 3.891, so if I don't get it, then'll...
I'm guessing you didn't get an actual number did you?
Me too...mine arrived with 3.872.

Ordered my V1 last...
Snoopy has video of that gun being used correctly I believe.
I'm pretty sure if the V1 picks up POP, it just acts like any other detection. I know if you QT (not the same I realize) with the V1 on K, it just reports a K alert.
The "J" alert is based off of...
Why do you have to go and start thinking about important things I missed... j/k ;)
I have to stop reading this thread. It just makes me want to upgrade my V1 now (if it were even possible)!!
I am trying to be patient though. I'm waiting to see what happens when they finally...
Looking forward to it!
I am very excited for the official release. Especially now after hearing this!!
I think the patent might not expire until later this year.
It definitely seems like it might help detection.
I would think that angling it towards the road would not only help with LIDAR, but with radar as well. It would be easier to catch it bouncing...
I agree, however, I would avoid a budget model Whistler.
