Ya, I saw the amateur's test and wasn't impressed quite frankly. '"Any test " ? ....Sure whatever.... :) Criticizing a unit that isn't even out yet is childish. No other word for it.[/QUOTE]

I have yet to see ANY testing to show Cobra has stepped up there game,in fact the the most recent ECCTG test showed just the opposite.
As far as I am concerned they are still bottom dwellers even...
Scumbags.
I found a cop using X band in North Carolina over the holiday,it was an old MPH K55.
First time I have see X band used in almost 10 years.
A regular LI quad properly installed should provide very good protection, especially if your truck is a darker color.
That video is very misleading to say the least.
If I wanted my detector to look like a spaceship I'd buy a Cobra.
If I wanted the best windshield mounted detector available I'd buy a V1.
LA stealth mode is a joke anyways.
It practically jams itself.
With such a low PPS rate it takes for ever to get a speed reading.
Why not sell the detector and upgrade to a new one.
Usually one in great shape can get $350-$375 on eBay.
A new one from V1 is $399.
I don't think this forum is maintained much anymore.
Its called Instant On.
Cops don't have to leave the radar broadcasting all the time but instead emit the signal when a car comes into view.
No radar detector will help you in this situation.
If you want an ESP detector, just sell your old one via eBay or Craigslist and buy a new one.
Just use the jam to kill tactic and you will be fine.
Get a laser alert, slow down and use the provided "kill switch" and the cop will be non the wiser.
Helping people doesn't pay the overtime bills like writing tickets does.
I believe the rd will show a voltage warning.
Also, unless your battery light is on your alt. is most likely not over or undercharging.
It is a very easy thing to double check for.
East Coast Countermeasure Testing Group.
On the other forum.
I can confirm Rockledge using a handheld X band gun 8+ years ago, thats it. Never seen it since.
Waldo,Lawty and Starke are small towns NW of gainesville notorious for speed traps, worst in the...
Being the last testing was 4 years ago,I imagine they are gone.
ECCTG is the independent authority now.
X band is no longer approved for use in Florida.
However some have noted some small hick towns in the Starke/Gainesville area may still use them.
I personally have come up against all three Ka...
VG protected but not against the Spectre.
Likely hood of running into one is on the low side.
I take mine down if I have to park in the summer direct sun.
If I park in the shade I'll leave it up.
Waldo,Starke and Lawtey Florida are a trio of speed traps all on the same route from Gainesville to Jacksonville.
Garbage little hick towns that make the budget off of travelers.
It does not effect Ka band per se.
Personally I like to keep as many options off as possible on any detector.
The less the detector has to think about the better.
For instance,there has been...
Yes,it will slow I/O performance.
If you don't have TSR and K band is a legit threat in your area I would keep it off
