well the reason I ask, after i tuned it and such I am getting a 2 bar signal consistantly even without chatter etc.

Yes, the BCT8 and BCT15's beartracker will only will alert you of the repeater of the Troopers that are actually being used within a 2-3 mile radius depending on your squelch.

Yeah, Like in my city. They have 20 frequencies, you just enter these into the scanner (following the manual for trunked systems) Then find what specific channels you want to listen to and enter...
