Funny, I've been thinking about the same for
a long time.... It's just the price and up fronting
the money for the trial. It would be nice to have
a backup detector for when one has to be sent...
The way I look at it is, anythings better than
nothing. Well, except for a Cobra but that goes
without saying. :)
(LOL) You just made my day...... :)
Great Show Roy, I really enjoyed watching that clip. It takes someone with real experience to make sure these TV hosts get all the technology correct. If Myth Busters would have had you on during...
From my Understanding, Valentine had an Issue
at one time with The V1 J'ing out real KA
threats. I'm sure someone with some V1
experience will step in and go into detail
about this for you. I've...
The Beltronics Vector 940 is what you need. :)
Yes the Higher end detectors do have the
advantage but in reality the Vectors do hold
their own with the big boys.
A Leveler like above is what I used to level my detectors
so with one of those your all good. If it looks level
to the eye that's all that counts. :)
I think this was more than Likely a " Instant On " Blast.
The small alert you got before hand was him hitting traffic
in front of you with " Instant On " and you where picking it up
from a...
Yep..... Uniden Made detectors for a long time and were
pretty popular in the 80's and early 90's
I had one of these back in 1992.

In all honesty, it's really not that hard to HardWire your own.
Don't waste your money with having Best Buy or Circuit City
do it. If you need help, I'd be glad to walk you through the
steps and...
10 days as long as they get it repaired correctly the 1st time.
I'm handling my fathers repair right now and I had to send
his back twice because they messed something up with it.
I should be...
Yep, I'll second that HardWire needed.
Trust me, it's the way to go.
All that weight from the coiled cored is
going to pull on your detector causing the
suction cups to brake free. Next thing...
Did some testing last night....... The X50 will false Laser with
The Cigarette Plug with or with out the RFI Choke Core.
Seems like this other device may be my only option.
What does it look...
Love the X50 for it's Filtering capability. It's the quietest detector
I have ever owned..... Escort seems to have balanced the filtering
and sensitivity very well with the X50.
Model: Snap-together ferrite Choke Core

Yes, I sure did..... Three times
That's a good test that I haven't preformed yet.....
I guess it just slipped my mind because I...
Same here, I never use the Horn so I never noticed mine until
one day some Moron almost backed into me while I was waiting

Don't worry, mine does the same when the horn is honked.
I tried purchasing a RFI Ferrite Core Filter from Radio Shack
and that didn't work. I was hoping that would take care of
things but didn't....

Wish I had the funds for cool toys like that.
Hi jdong, Glad to see that you understand my concerns and know that
this isn't just some random post by someone wanting to start trouble.
No, I sure haven't asked to speak to a higher tier but will...
I'm not one to complain about these kinds of things but this just
has me in a rage. I've had wonderful service with Escort but
every once in a while I get this one particular Customer Service...
Just sent one of mine in....... $58.95
They even sent back an extra Cigarette Lighter Plug and a
Window Mounting bracket with some extra suction cups for free.
Very Nice of them..... :)
I'm going to have to agree with CJR238 on this and maybe with
some " Instant On " thrown in there.
To be on the safe side, I called Escort up and explained my issue
with my fathers repaired unit. They gladly stated that they would pay
to have it shipped back, fixed, and returned free of charge....
