I had a 2 Ka bogies, one J'd but the V1 (.826) kept alerting to the other. I used to cycle the power after a J but I don't think that's required. It was dark so I didn't see the offending device.

The LIDAR collector improved too (1.7 to 1.8).
I've detected scatter twice, never been hit directly. Both times the LEO pulled someone over going the other direction.
As for the falses, if you're stuck at a traffic light & you get a laser...
Is there a total of three boards now? In the sticky (internal pics of v1) that seems to have been removed there were always 2 boards, this one just looks a little smaller.
Resorting to name-calling? I thought you were above that.
As for being a Z(V)ombie - Yeah, right.

arashi, the bogey-lock comes in especially handy within a couple miles from my house. There is a road that is marked @ 35 which should be at 45 or so. There is a convalescense home on the side...

sounds like "Deet Deet!" then the new band that's detected.
so if you're getting a K signal & a Ka comes into the picture it goes: "deet deet - bra-brap"
x false & K comes in "deet deet -...
Releasing new revisions every other day hardly seems reasonable.
If they expect real drivers to beta test they should offer the units @ half price with free upgrades until they settle on...
I don't think I'll send mine in to do free beta testing for VR, only after a year or few will mine go in, and only when required.
If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I'm sure glad I didn't upgrade due to all the problems new v1 owners are experiencing. As I mentioned though, the experience was far from the norm.
Before I bought mine I wondered why...
Mine has J'd out a cop or two but there's no way of knowing if there was in fact a leaky RD or not - sometimes I'll turn it off/on to see if it picks it up. When I get a Ka hit the brakes are...
Yesterday I was coming up a long gradual grade and got a blip of Ka. about .5 miles later it slowly ramps up. 1.25 miles from the blip to the "T" in the road I went right. There was the cop - 30...
There's a lot of unmarked troopers and center dividers in my area - both make visually identifying the source difficult, if not impossible much of the time. For you to say the arrows are useless is...
I'd think Laser wouldn't be affected by metallic tint as much as radar.
The Beltronics person just wanted to sell you a radar detector, even though you have metallic tint.
Call Valentine...
either that or it's performing a balancing act on 3 quarters.
buy a longer four-conductor phone cord.
don't motorcycle cops use handheld units? It may be possible his gun was accidentally left on & in the bags or strapped down.
I don't hide mine very often, unless it's a shady part of town or I'm going into an apartment complex/mall/etc. If I do hide it there's a large sunglass pocket that my v1 slides into, in fact I have...
Nope, you're about 16 days late, the return ploicy on radar detectors is 14 days....[/quote]
Nice use of bold, wally.
thanks kpatz. This wasn't an ordinary HP cruiser (crown vic or charger), it was a SUV with the same markings. I generally try not to notice them hoping they'll pay me the same respect...
In the middle of my RX65 trial period I was alerted to an over the hill trap by both my scanner & the RX65 by about a half mile. The hill was between 30 & 50' high, the LEO was on the other side...
SJ, I'll second that motion.
BS!
Veil Guy,
I've received two scatter shots whereas within 10 seconds of getting the laser alert the LEO popped a car going the other direction. In both instances the LEO was was facing left...
