Has anyone ever been able to test cosine error using laser? Just curious.

I've got a BCD396T. Great scanner but when it senses an encrypted signal, it cuts it off and continues to scan. I'm assuming the kid you referred to sending the signal from his scanner to a computer...
Say this anywhere in the freaking liberal Toronto (or any other major urban area) and pretty much everybody would start looking at you like public enemy #1, no joke at all, they have already been...
As with the absurd gun laws in Canada, the banning of radar detectors is just another example of the old adage, "Its as good to appear to be doing something, as it is to actually do it." By banning...
Try finding a place (shopping mall etc.) where you see the unit alerting. If there is no sound, plug in a set of earbuds (mp3 walkman style) and see if they work. If they do, then you have a bad...
Actually, one of the cars was the "new" paint job and was running K.
Sorry to hear of your problem TRC. My stealth mount includes a 12 volt 4" computer fan which constantly cools my STi. Works great. I notice in your sig line that you run with K band off. Last...
And this is where a good scanner and CB radio compliment a good detector.
That makes sense.
Thanks Spinner55
The BCD396T has the close call feature. It will grab close by transmissions which, if you are out on the open highway, are usually LEO in origin. As well, if you can find the in car repeater...
I'm just curious here but, why is X band being phased out for speed measuring devices? It seems to measure speed as well as K or ka, or am I wrong on that. Or, is it a case of so many other devices...
Hmmmm.... Thats different. I wonder if they are perhaps not working together at all? I don't see any advantage to running that kind of setup unless the Spectre car calls ahead to the radar/lidar unit...
RD's are banned in most provinces because they are perceived by the government to be only used as a means to speed and avoid tickets. While this may be true in some cases, the real issue is revenue...
Sounds more like an old tactic. One LEO lights you up from in front while the other one on the ramp watches for brake lights. Its what they used to do 4 or 5 years ago before the Spectre to try and...
I've noticed that the OPP during traffic stops, will occasionally ask for information through a second system if and when the initial info does not correspond to the vehicle or person they are...
When I first got my STi, I was amazed at how hot it got. This may sound radical, but I devised a mount using a 12 volt 4 inch computer fan. I have never had a problem and now the STi is just slightly...
A Bushnell Laser Rangefinder works great on the STi. 8)
Something does not sound right there. Christmas what year? The STi is made FOR commercial drivers because of its stealth. Just has a bad feel to it. Ask him what revision. You would be better off...
I have exactly the same experiences as you takk. I get them in the same area on Hwy 401 and have for years with every detector I've had. I think the tower theory is the most probable although there...
[quote="erickonphoenix"]I displace 22,000 lbs but because I only go 6 mph it's all good! Cheers!
If thats your boat, I'd say closer to 8 to 10 knots in a good wind. Looks like around 38 ft. Hard...
Guess I'm OK, my raft won't go very fast. :(
Thanks for that info mike. I did not realize that my 396t did that. I must assume that its not a switchable feature. :(
Try a Bushnell rangefinder. Mine sets off laser very well.
I've had similar experiences with Ka band and I think it has to do mostly with the very narrow width of the beam. On a straight stretch, the distance is excellent, but I have met Ka on a curve where...
I've noticed in encounters with Ka radar, that the beam is VERY narrow. I was wondering if there is any technical data on just how narrow the beam is compared to say, K band. For instance, a few...
