Yeh, I seen this too. A few of the newer SUVs seem to do this.
This reminds me, awhile back I forgot I had left my Nikon SB-800 flash in my car and ran out to get it. I whipped it out of its case...

especially at night it's hard to see. i'd be cool if someone invented a heat sensor for consumer use... a cop would be easy to spot at night then.
yeh if it's working for you i'd hold off unless the upgrade is free or there's another major version that adds new features.
ex: i'm running 3.818 right now... no problems with "J" going off or...
well it'll still go off. and at close range the odds are you'll be able to see him anyway.
that m5 is really slick.
yeh for the driver's license ticket, i thought cops had to have probable cause first to pull you over... he can't just "suspect" you don't have a license on you. what was his reason that he stopped...
I tapped into my cigagrette lighter... a little safer imo than going for the fusebox and easier to wire up.
i'm not sure how much you've bought or sold on ebay, but if you've never sold anything on ebay before (or bought), most experienced ebay users are going to be very hesitant about buying from you with...
yeh whatever they're describing sounds too vague to be true. it sounds like a badly worded feature list from a company known to make crap.
there's no way to completely eliminate falses. door...
how do yo figure the range? it's entirely possible you could be picking up another car's detector as you passed it and got instant-on as coincidence making the incidents two seperate events.

yeh i found that to be the case too.. even after the cops pull someone over, they leave the radar going even though they can lock the speed and shut it off...
i've never had the ka J false indicator pop up...
good stuff there jim. :)
... and it's freaking wide as hell! when my buddies and I roadtripped out to DC, it seemed half the trip was through Ohio.
i like that black tinting idea on the suction cops... that's a nice touch.
valentine equates that to a high cell tower--the higher you mount, the odds increase of better reception.
i wish all highways were 75... it's those dammed 55 mph zones which are a pain. on long trips, 80 is fast enough for me... above that gas mileage suffers big time.
not crude at all, especially if you have a lease vehicle...
i gotta say, that porsche installation is one of the cleanest i've seen... one of my gripes is the RJ-11 terminal is on the...
radar is basically radio waves; there might be just enough reflectivity in the seats of the car, for example, to slow the wave down changing its frequency enough for the v1 to think its another...
what i meant by my comment was that new technology isn't everything. even if a new ku radar gun went on the market today, that doesn't mean anything if municipalities won't be buying it. if their...
since Valentine recommends mounting up high (such as by your rearview mirror), the concealed display lets you see the alerts in a more viewable place as well.
did you type your serial into the valentine site? iirc, pop1 -> pop2 is a free upgrade (but if it doesn't have pop it's $55).
ku band isn't coming to the states anytime soon...
like others have mentioned, not all cops run radar all the time, whether instant-on or not. some troopers just like to sit on the side of the road waiting. lots of time their presence is enough to...
when i first got my concealed display i thought the same thing. the arrows and display are actually roughly if not the same size as the v1's display so you're really not missing anything. also when...
apparently i've heard from more than one person who has this v1 version. valentine hasn't updated their site though; when i put in my serial, it still says i have the latest version (just over a...
