The reason for not sending it till now is that she is having doubts about X50's quality/performance even after she gets a new one……she might gift this to some one & probably go for a better quality...

I have driven her car for 3 consecutive days with the rear visor all up & haven’t received any self cal or service required message displayed……..2 things…..the issue wasn’t...

Can some X 50 User enumerate both common & rare causes of self cal & service required messages, in a relatively new & a year plus used X 50?

I would think that the quality control at the X50 production has fallen, probably they have started to outsource like Dell & many companies.
Bought a 4500 bucks DELL lap top XPS...

Which mode is better & why.....Auto e X OFF or Highway e X OFF?

BTW manual says that auto has a longer range?

I agree Toyota wanna just sell their cars, but since I own one of the Corollas’, its installed with a catalytic converter & Oxygen & CO sensors. Toyota recommends minimum 90 octane at least.

Firstly today, on start up, didn’t get any Self Cal or Service Req. message displayed. Then drove hunting for a threat…luckily found another tower which gave a weak K band alert on expert display...

As suggested by you, turned automute OFF & tones from Standard to Loud.......lets see what happens when I take her car pass by that tower again.......earlier got a weak K band alert with low volume!

Before I got the Service Required Message I was hit by a laser instant on, I think, wasn’t doing off the limits. X 50 displayed LASER with alerts & could see a cop by the road about .25 miles away....

Just to check again, I drove her car for about 4 hrs in Orlando sun & heat…..it was nearing 95F & all glaze & sunlight falling on the X 50…..surprisingly no Self Cal or Service Required messaged were...

If these X 50s are so sensitive to sunlight, than probably she should buy 2 units....one to use & other as a back up or out for servicing?

You are right.....wrong price that I thought she paid......345 & not 445!

I don't actually know the period of warranty, but I think its less than a month old at the moment.
It's a bad feeling, like when you buy one of the better ones & its malfunctions in the first few...
