NZ Bands are:
K - 24.? For speed camera vans (they're low powered so you probably wont detect them)
Ka - 34.7 For all patrol cars

Well its all just a matter of time. When speed cameras first came out using high power Ka 34.7 the older detectors and still the likes of RMR couldn't pick them up until you were on top of them.

My STi will only alert when im on top of the thing so its not really worth having K band enabled since it falses all the time.

sort of looks like the new cameras we got over here in New Zealand, i get about 20meters warning with my STi.
im guessing it uses the same radar system
how would they obtain a speed if the radar signal is being pointed in the opposite direction?
could it be very low powered, a van being a big steel box would reflect radar radiation out of the front...
normally its on the motorway so 100km\h area, and we drive towards the camera lense.
once passed i continue to get an alert for about 150meteres

the V1 is really to see especially at night, i was about 50M behind my mate and could see the faint 'A' then when it went off the arrows stand out very well.
