looks that way according to the bel note enclosed in the box. it works ok now .. 0.8 miles tested with Ka cop car this morning.

doubt an sti would do better than a v1. the main feature of the sti is stealth and not range.
i sent it back because a firmware bug caused the voice and other prompts to become garbled and locked up the unit. hard reset didnt help. the speaker imho was fine. it seemed to be the speaker...
or it could be a variant of the same problem i ran into. might be a bug in the no doubt hastily released with bels usual QC firmware.
ive returned mine to bel.
