Fry, welcome aboard !!
Is this something significant or just strategic updating?
United States Patent: 8478223
I've owned the regular X50 and now have a BLACK X50. Both very good units for the dollar.
Really? I'm curious where you are driving. I see radar almost every day when riding around eastern MA...
LE=Low Energy (newer version of Bluetooth), only on iPhone 4S and newer. I won't be able to run this on my older phone :(
^^^ this was somewhat influential for me. My 2004 unit did drift way out of tune.
Also, I find the MUTED volume on the new unit to be weak.
I've got a V1 from 2004 and a new unit purchased a couple months ago. I'm not sure I can differentiate between the two units in terms of outright sensitivity and traditional urban alerts. They're...
^^^ This is the major force at play. But others factors could certainly be an influence...
Woody, welcome aboard! Sounds very much like you need to have those V1s serviced.
Don't overlook the Escort 8500 X50 Black...real nice detector for the $$$.
The V1's ability to detect laser is outstanding and unmatched, IME. Some say it's useless info, some like to know what's going on around them :) I've had multiple scatter pick ups.
It's not falsing, it's picking up actual laser signals. I see it all the time. Mostly Infinitis and hi-end Toyotas in my local area.
Now, the Escort 8500 units I have do "false" when the...
Welcome aboard! Have you looked at the programming chart over at the Valentine website?
I make that trip thru VA every year and don't worry about Spectre the way I used to. I've yet to experience it. People say it's often used near the borders of the state.
Just remain aware of...
Anyone pick up on these mis-deeds?
NJ State Troopers Suspended For Alleged Role In High-Speed Caravan Escorting
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Two New Jersey State Police troopers have been...
It's a pathetic waste of tax payer funds that these LEOs are wasting time on nonsense like this...not to mention the second trooper that stopped. Looked like the Keystone Cops
+1.
If I lived in VA, the V1 would not serve as my primary detector. I would seek out one of the stealth detectors as it seems there are some very good choices today. Why invite trouble if...
Mylon, what country are you in? Are you certain you need X-band engage?
+1. the X50 Black is quite the performer against radar!
+1.
...that needs a bunch of $$$ to bring it up to current specs.
Thanks, Norm. I've seen that type of installation on I95 in CT...detector is going off non-stop rendering it useless.
I understand that. I guess what I am uncertain about is whether the TSR dvices are always a permanent installation.
In MA, the state moves around those rolling sign boards that have a radar (K...
Norm, out of curiosity, would TSR work, or are drones and TSR not the same animal?
Thanks.
That certainly will put a damper on the bar business !! :(
I always switch off DRLs on our cars when cruising on the highway. Headlights on when it's dark, of course ;)
I'd luv to see a shot of the unit plugged into the OBD port, wiring, etc. if you can manage that.
Thx.
