I've got mine hardwired and above the rear-view mirror. This worked in my 02 rex and my 04 sti.

This happened to me in a NH toll both a few weeks ago - on 95 - they don't have ezpass there yet, so I paid with tokens...
My 8500 went off, but my zr3 did not. My guess was that it was the stop...
I just realized that... since it jammed from the back and all... duh...

Were you running a detector? It almost sounds like they might have started shooting you at over 1000 feet, then waited until you hit 999 feet in order to write you up.
