Re: Escort Max - DUDE or DUD ?

DUD. I tried a Max2. Too many issues to list (see escortforum). I'd take a 9500ix any day over a Max/Max2.

After getting the itch to upgrade my 9500ix. I ended up getting an STi-R Plus.

    It is...

Re: A little disappointed with Escort today...

I agree, someone finally had the sense to technically assess your story and realize your unit is fine and confirmed it.
  4. Re: Too much Spam from Escort by afraid to unsubscribe

So you're saying I have to parse the URL and know the difference between mlid and mid to know what I'm unsubsribing from.

    I see.
  5. Re: Too much Spam from Escort by afraid to unsubscribe

I watch for the states of interest and they don't come up often.

They look IDENTICAL. The unsubcribe goes exactly to the same place.

I took HTTP out so it would not mess with the text below...
  6. Too much Spam from Escort by afraid to unsubscribe

The unsubscribe process looks identical between removing the Updates from the Adware.

Can I get just the updates?

    Re: Escort Live!

$79.95 for the SmartCord Live and a subscription through all of 2012. No monthly fee.

The SmartCord Live replaces your existing power cord. There are no extra wires. A hardwire version is...

    Re: Escort Live!

Perhaps I read the ads wrong but 29.95 a MONTH service fee, plus detector, plus new cord !! Don't think so.

Also who wants a cord hanging down, only cobra users do that.

    Nice idea, poor...

    Poll: Re: Poll: Smarter SmartMute

Thanks for voting. I totally agree with the advanced menu, don't even put in the manual and only the tinkerers will find it. Which is exactly what V1 does. I'll bet it already does have an advanced...

    Poll: Poll: Smarter SmartMute

Well it turns out the bug I've been griping about forever is "Fixed" in latest firmware. The problem was the "Fix" was not what I expected.

First, I really love a quiet detector which is why I...

  12. Re: What the heck is the latest Firmware for 9500ix and how does one get it?

Just for the Record EscortRadar (Larry) has been very helpful to get to the bottom of this over on EscortRadarForum. Stay tuned.

    Re: 9500ix problems, PLEASE HELP!

24mph over posted limit !! Your gonna get nailed no matter what detector you have. Leo's won't even need a radar gun.

Keep in mind a detector just reduces odds a bit.

    9500ix IMHO is for the...
  15. Re: Hard wiring 9500ix into late model VW into overhead console

I borrowed the car from my wife the other day and noticed, oh crap the radar is not working. I suspected it was the wire tap didn't bite in enough.

Later that evening I'm driving home and it's...

    Re: Question on the 9500ix

Escort is against users making meaningful adjustments, so they don't allow it. They would also have to reprint manuals.

Re: visor mounting GPS radar detectors

Visor works fine. GPS lock may be a little slow. Once locked it will be fine.

Also consider mounting it on headliner with Visor Clip. It gets GPS lock quite fast and has a nice clear view.

  19. Re: Hard wiring 9500ix into late model VW into overhead console

I updated opening post with how I installed it with photos.

Another perfect install if I do say myself :)

One odd thing I noticed, is there is no tint on this car. I think the roof is so...
  20. Re: Detector Tools does NOT work with the new Windows 7 SP 1.

I agree. 64bit is an absolute requirement at my work and runs much smoother on memory heavy applications.
  21. Re: Detector Tools does NOT work with the new Windows 7 SP 1.

If you believe that I have a bridge to sell you. It's because of the company Escort uses for Obfuscation (to prevent reverse engineering their code). The company they use are a complete hack. I used...
  22. Re: Hard wiring 9500ix into late model VW into overhead console

I was wondering about that, It does have power to the mirror. What's an "Invisicord"?

I have seen posts on VW forums where someone did tap the light switch and the Radar turns on when he hit's...
  23. Re: Hard wiring 9500ix into late model VW into overhead console

I've done it many times both ways and prefer overhead console.

I especially want to do it this time because there are airbags in the pillars where I would normally run wires.
  24. Hard wiring 9500ix into late model VW into overhead console

This is my install of Radar in a 2011 VW CC Sport (no sunroof).

This WILL switch with Ignition on.

It turns out you DO NOT have to remove the light Bezel as some pictures on internet...
  25. VW (CC) Rain Sensing Windshield a problem for 9500ix?

I'm picking up a new 2011 VW CC Sport tomorrow (actually my wifes) and I want to transfer her 9500ix from her 99 Passat.

I was reading the brochure and it said something about the windshield...
