I was thinking about starting a separate thread on this, however this one seems fitting.
Is it just me, or is there a lot more IO usage around the holidays?
I'm probably over thinking but I...

I'm probably just thinking too much about this but the whole "I brought papers to show them I had work done" part sounds like an attempt to dispose of a ticket for an equipment violation.
Maybe...
Just Googling Laser Interceptor related discussion today and I found this conversation.
This has got to be BS...

Probably Craig Peterson. The guy has long been suspected of getting kickbacks from some radar detector manufacturers in exchange for favorable reviews. I would guess that is what you found.
V1 actually helped me avoid a FHP trooper using IO Ka last week. I kept getting random and brief Ka blips for about a mile and a half with a forward facing arrow each time. Then I spotted him and BAM...
Does anyone know if there are still tons of K band drones on the Georgia-Florida border?
I made the trip myself in late '08 and this is what I remember. Tons and tons and tons of K band drones.
So long as you slow down and shut the system off when you are at the speed limit, you should be okay in theory.
There is always a chance that you'll run across the one "educated" cop who might...
OP sounds like a LEO.
In that case, no, none of this stuff works.
I changed mine to play the chorus of Bob Marley's Jammin' whenever I'm hit by Lidar.
Another possibility - could it have been laser from behind? I would say the chance of getting any kind of an alert in that scenario would drop considerably then.
To OP -if you feel comfortable...
I doubt a woman has ever been to this website unless by mistake or possibly to seek advice on a detector for a SO, and even that would be a stretch.
Sounds like QT. I got a ticket once and my 8500 never alerted to what I was told by the arresting officer was K band radar.
I'm glad you didn't get a ticket.
Aren't you glad you found this out from a door? There is a much worse alternative. :o
I think my biggest concern is the inevitability that more LEOs will become educated about jammers as times goes on.
Think about it. We're pretty lucky currently living in a time where the vast...
The police will know you are jamming if...
a. you leave the jammers on, essentially JTG or JFG. This is a no-no, and should be avoided at all costs.
b. it takes you a LONG time to slow down,...
It's actually the modular plug on the straight cord itself. the V1 is fine. It's been about two years, so I don't think they would replace the cord without a charge. On second thought, I could...
The modular plug on my V1 is broken, so I am contemplating starting the hardwire process all over again.
I was looking on Valentine's website and I think I can probably get by with the Direct wire...
I got a K band radar ticket in Nov 2007 and my Passport 8500 didn't alert. Either the ***** lied or used QT.
In 2001 I got a laser ticket while using a Radio Shack detector. No alert, but it...
I saw it once about 7 years ago on one of those "your speed is..." scare type signs in Palm Beach County. My Passport 8500 didn't alert to the sign, as I had X band turned off. As a test, I turned it...
I hit the brakes, kill the jammers and pray.
I always figured that the LEO would think you saw him and slowed down
or that you had a radar (laser) detector - worst case scenario, but still not...
The more I think about this, the more I wonder if it matters. I mean, yeah, if the cop doesn't have a steady hand and the planets are exactly aligned you might be able to outbrake it, but why not...
Well, I would go but seeing as how I'm jammer-less at the moment :(
Maybe we could test V1 laser detection ability behind the tint strip
I was just about to ask if someone ever got and laser scatter and you witness someone else get busted.[/QUOTE]
Possibly.
I remember one instance. I was hit by laser and the LI and V1 alerted...
I have a buddy who SWEARS his Cobra (yep) has saved him from laser because he slams on the brakes when it has alerted to such traps. He thinks you have 2-3 seconds to slow down after it alerts. I...
I think your V1 is probably okay. It's not uncommon to miss laser hits aimed at your headlight/center mass, especially with a high mount like your setup.
My V1 is mounted next to the rear view...
