I tried to do the same thing in my Dad's Yukon back in the mid 90's...when I took the panel off I found a screw right behind that held the overhead console to the roof....there was no way around it....

It was like a oval wedge...I believe there were buttons on both sides. It saved me many times!!!

I was searching Ebay for a picture of my first Radar Detector (I am not that old!) it was a Whistler, early 90's not sure what the model number was. I remember I had to buy a standalone whistler...

Really? I have had it a year with no problems...many puzzled looks by officers :)

I currently have a bel 880 with a laserpro 904. I was thinking about upgrading the 880 to a rx65 but not sure if technology has really changed much since my 880.

Any thoughts before I drop...
