as far as concealment even with the visors down, you can see the suction pads through the glass, but obviously each car is different.

I am from NY and primarily drive in NY and NJ. I was told the tint strip is not good for the radar detector to detect through. Also, not sure how the visor conceals it.

I see you have the x50 also. When i put the display in stealth mode the smart chord light is suppose to go on and the secodn light when there is a detection. I know that it works since i...
thanks for that. I will post in a different forum next time. One (or 2) last question though. Do i have rear radar detection anyway? and what about the lights on the smart chord, how are they...
Have an x50 Rev 5 that i mount just behind the rearview mirror but i think the RVM is blocking the eye for rear detection. Does the eye for the rear need to be unobstructed? my vehicle has a very...
Airmoore - been using the x50 with all bands on (including POP) been getting lots of false X alerts, but need to keep X on for driving through NJ. Any idea how to set it to minimize some false...
your right about the price but if you go to the beginning of the thread you will see i got it for $180. so now i have a great backup in the v940.
its true much better features on the x50, and actually based on the GOL results the X50 overwhelmingly outperformed around the curve detection
yes i saw the GOL testing and they were both even in performance except the x50 outperformed around curves.
I might just do that. See if my friend will lend me his V1 for a while. I want to play with the X50 for a while first though. I do know from owners of V1s that once you get used to the directional...
by the way i do give credibility to your opinion on the V1 as you own the other 2 as well. As i said one day i will find out for myself.
i think i have read enough on these forums to know that no detector is going to save you from a direct Laser hit. You need a jammer. However when mounted correctly they both give you a fighting...
ok thanks. Soon i will ask you about EXP mode and how to use that.
thanks airmoore! although the link you gave me with the list shows POP use in NY. Is it rare? I guess i will leave it on at first, and see how annoying it gets or if it is a real encounter or falsie.
thanks airmoore! Is their a listing of where POP is used? are you sure their is no POP use in NY/NJ?
Guys
I drive mostly in NY and New Jersey. It is my understanding that in NY LEOs are mostly using Lazer and KA. and in NJ they still use lots of X, with Lazer in some spots. I need to know what...
Rose 1 - one other thing, all of those creature comforts of the 940 are great, but at the end of the day i want the one that will give me better radar/lidar detection. Let's not forget the most...

Thanks for your reply. Too late though since i made the purchase. You however must have gotten an even better deal than me. I see them going for alot more money than either of us paid. Your...
I it is Rev 5. Good?
No, but i do know that it was purchased from Best Buy 3-4 years ago.
no such luck. I just bought it anyway. I will keep the Vector 940 as a backup or in my wifes car.
sorry needed to move quick and was trying to get a fast answer
Hi
I have a Bel Vector 940 and was offered a used passport 8500 x50 with red LED for $180 which i think is a great deal. Is the 8500 x50 that much better that i should jump on this?
