I just got one as well, when researching it says performance is on par with the x50. The 8500ci is the same as the qi45 they just renamed it to fit in with their product line

i had an xtr330 and it worked very well. i would reccomend turning pop off and also turning off laser. i have gotten over 1 mile ka and a little over 1 mile k band alerts before
so i noticed if you type "radar detector" into amazon teh xtr140 is the first thing that pops up.
what is the best selling whistler unit of all time? my guess is the xtr140 but maybe michael B...

the horn and board are about twice the size in the pro 78 compared to the xtr140. they do not have any of the same pieces, the pro 78 is about 3-4 inches longer than the 140

the xtr140 has a separate function for vg2 and laser. you have to turn them on in order for it to aler to either of them

i made that same drive yesterday. there were only 2 troopers that i ran across on the 5 hour drive but they were all with customers already
