Park the car a bit away from a radar source (Walgreens, CVS, etc), hold your radar detector behind the strip and note the strength, move it below and note the strength, repeat. If it doesn't change...

When it says rejects IR light, it means it stops it from coming inside of the car (window film), hence being reflected back to where it was coming from. Not good.
