Brent, read the note in the tan area above the feature 7 section. It says right there that it mutes K-band under certain circumstances, and that it only works in L or l modes.

I got in on one of his initial batches, back in August. Works great. If you're thinking of getting a remote display anyway, then definately get one from him.
The F-15 is big because the radar in it's nose is big. It was built around the radar. Just like the V1 was built around its radar horn. If you make the V1 smaller, you'd have to make the horn...
I just don't get it. You don't make your radar detector purchase decision based on "looks". You base your decision based on performance. Period.
Who gives a crap what it looks like? I think the...
Any radar antenna generates whats known as sidelobes when it radiates. That's one reason you can detect it even when the antenna is not pointed directly at you. These sidelobes go out in all...
Never had a false laser warning with my V1.
Knowing the direction of the threat, is in itself, worth the price difference.
You can't measure distance simply by signal strength alone. There are too many variables that effect received signal strength. You would need two receivers separated laterally to get a line of...

yeah, what he said
Outrun-
I assume these Ku band alerts were all falses? Or, were they actual LEO's?
I never had a Ku false alert (or real for that matter) when I had it enabled.
EDIT: oh, I see now that it's...
Veil Guy,
This occured to me the other day...I had a clear bra put on my Jetta a year ago, and I was thinking it'd be great of they could mix in the Veil properties to the formula when they make the...
Being in the left lane of 4 lanes, with the LEO off the right shoulder, the cosine factor would make it unlikely you'd register as speeding anyway.
A true reading is only going to be at either 180...
For any company to boast their product will "Never be obsolete" is pure B.S. on it's face. Claims like that make me cringe.
I'd be pissed too if some company told me they'd upgrade my purchase...
Bigdad, what was your impression of Mike V?
The flat windshield should reflect the laser away from the source... upwards (assuming your windshield is sloped back). A vertical windshield, ala an old Jeep could be a problem though.
Just my opinion here...I don't mean to solicate attacks...
A possible suggestion for ya...
I think the best is the V1, so that's what I'd get. To me, it's worth a little more money for the V1,...
Last night I was pulling into a parking space at a favorite bar, and my V1's laser warning starts going nuts. Turns out it was this pinkish/redish neon sign setting it off. I know it was the...
That's what I thought. I was impressed it detected it so well.
I remember when I used to use this detector all the time (usually corded) it would false a lot on laser, when in real bight sunlight....
Fighters have a nose cone made of fiberglass, and inside that is the FCR (fire control radar as we call it). So, obviously radar can pass easily thru fiberglass. Also, if you look at wx radar or an...
I put two coats on my car. That is, I let the first coat dry for maybe 5 minutes, then put on the second coat. Mine don't seem to be as dark as the above pic however.
I also polished the headlight...
Thanks for the info. I've had it enabled for awhile, I guess I'll turn it off.
Never got any Ku alerts though...no falses.
This has probably already been asked, but...
In the U.S. , has anyone encountered a Ku threat? Are Ku band guns being used here yet?
Does enabling it reduce detection abilities in the other bands?...
I just got my V1 back from VR today. I had sent it in due to ghosting, "J'ing out" issues and L mode seemed to have no effect vs. A mode.
Anyway, they didn't charge me anything, plus they even...
On battery power, too!
Awaiting the return of my beloved V1 that I sent to VR for a firmware update, I decided to mount (sts) my Escort Solo for temporary duty. I couldn't find the power cord, so...
I didn't think truckers used RD's because it is illegal for them to use them. Or, am I being naive?
Welcome back from the dark side
Don't u find the directional arrows increase your SA?
