Of course you could buy at the auto parts store one of those suction cups that they use to pull out gigantic door dings with. It won't bounce around then. :D
Most police are way too lazy to quick trigger their radar units. They just set the units on "hold" and wait for a victim. If traffic is sparse that is all they need. They catch plenty of game this...
Heavy rain slaughters the range of all radar guns, especially Ka band guns, since water absorbs microwaves.

Absolutely true. An excellent observation about this situation. :)
... very old cop trick. ;)
i thought he ment a radar detector.. :D everyone that is new here seems to calls them "radars" Yes you may hear a radar signal in your radio if the radar was close enough to it and it was picking up...
You had better be nice to her or you won't get your v1 accessories when you get the detector. :D
I know! WTF is going on!
You think M/V has this problem? :D
well leaving all that space inside lets mike update the innards pretty easily without having to redesign the detector completely over, me thinks...:)
I have one and it isn't sad to say. :(
good advice. :)
if you put it directly on your radio receiver you might possibly or maybe right near the antenna.
You might hear the LO whining or maybe the signal frequency scanner sweeping..
and all this time I thought it was because M/V was caught stealing the companies silverware..:D
well no one lies all the time huh? :D
nice to hear. i bought a xtr-195 last thanksgiving from Radio Shack as a back up detector on a really good sale and have been wondering how well it detects radar since I haven't used it yet.
That's quite amazing since I thought the v1 was pretty much optimized for k-band still. :)
ahh who am I kidding. M/V doesn't listen to any of us here at the forums. :D
Radar receiving horns really don't work this way. The size of traffic radar microwaves is such that a smaller horn works better then a bigger one. Look at most of the detector horns and you will see...
I saw a veil guy video of a really amazing 34.7 police radar pick up from the xtr-695. Truly amazing range on 34.7! :)
Pretty cool MT. We have similar cross wired brains buddy. :D Miniature detectors were once popular in the x-k bands and many picked up signals really well. Unidens were wonderful I recall. Damn I...
escort is really developing some amazing technology for this detector.
Had the strangest dream. Dreamed I had bought a miniature V1. A new improved and more expensive follow on to the original which was still being sold btw in my dream for the original price. Really...
Older top line whistlers were absolutely great. Then whistlers got pretty bad with all the advanced radar guns coming out, :( Now they are finally recovering in their radar detection abilities IMO.
A good quality brand won't plug any oil passages btw..:)
They work for minor leaks where the seals are dried out a bit. A good name brand is recommended though. ;)
