    Re: Sometimes a V1 Just Isn't Enough

Yep. That and plan waaaaay ahead for anytime I need to go anywhere. It's amazing how much more time these trips take--or at least how long they feel like they take.

    Re: Sometimes a V1 Just Isn't Enough

You're absolutely correct. =>25 is considered wreckless, and I knew this when I was driving. I just needed to get to my destination and happened to get caught. The officer was in the right place...
  3. Re: looking to get a v1 with color display? check this site out

I'd only do what you need. If you've got too much going on there, it may end up taking more time to figure out what is going on versus less, especially since you only have 4 colors.

    Re: Sometimes a V1 Just Isn't Enough

So you know what it's like.

The speed was a risk I had to take. There was that much riding on getting to the meeting at the destination. The officer must have understood it too, because he was...

    Re: Audi cars = K-band pollutors ?

We have a lot of Ka as well, but there's still K present as well. And then all those door openers that could have just stayed on x...
  7. Re: looking to get a v1 with color display? check this site out

They will still work on it, just like any other out-of-warranty v1. :)
That they will. :( I had my unit modified by languy99 before I sent it to v1 for repair and he did a great job. I thought...

    Re: The 'opt-out' option

After knowing what I know about deliveries from the major carriers, I would never have a non-signature delivery. You can request a 'hold at distribution' from most carriers and the distribution...

    Re: Sometimes a V1 Just Isn't Enough

Well said. I think we all know who needs to grow up.
LOL!! Most of them run some sort of Whistler/Cobra on the dash pointed at the sky. No one around here really invests in a good detector even...

    Re: Took A Chance...

I had Languy99 modify my unit with color LEDs before I sent it back to VR for repair. When it came back, the LEDs were red again. :( So I sent it back to him to be modded again. Mine wasn't any...

    Re: Audi cars = K-band pollutors ?

You know what interests me--how does this affect the radar guns? Parking assist/cruise control/stealth radar jammer? :D

If the band gets polluted enough, the gun will change, and then the game...

    Re: Valentine 1 + Heat

The temperature makes them less pliable and more susceptible to dirt. So my solution was to carry some Windex wipes with me in the car. :) They do wonders.I would not recommend that as the casing...

    Re: Sometimes a V1 Just Isn't Enough

I probably could have said 8hr and got away with it. If my attorney had told me this, I probably would have done it. But I tried to be honest. Not a good idea when in court.

    Yeah, my attorney...

    Re: Valentine 1 + Heat

The only thing I've found about the cold temps are the suction cups get stiff. The unit will work fine. :)

    Yeah, sucks doesn't it?
Actually, it's much, much more dangerous. Our interstate was undergoing construction where the limit was dropped from 70 to 55. While I went 55,...

    Re: Valentine 1 + Heat

I've owned v1s for a long time and have had two go bad on me after about 5 years with different problems.

  21. Re: Serial Number, Software Version, Manufacturing Date - The Definitive Answer

Mine just stop picking up a band completely when they're needing to go in for service. In the last decade this has happened twice, so about every 5 years.

Been a couple of year since I've been on here, and my modded main body is still running strong. It's soooo much easier to tell the bands.

Re: dots + suction cup = sometimes

One solution I've found that really works is keep a package of Windex wipes in the car. When the v1 starts to slip, clean the windshield and the suction cups. Problem solved.

Re: V1 turning on/ off, then on.

I have two v1s running via a cig lighter splitter. And both do the double power up sequence. I don't see it harming anything in the long run. It is neat to hear the power-up cycle in stereo twice...

Re: Can a V1 set off another V1??

I run two v1s regularly in the same car. I try to keep them at least two feet apart and haven't seen any issues in either.

Now that being said, I could see one interfering with another if they...
