Default BMW M5 with Quad LI -pics & vid

Yes yes, I just got this sick install.. it was a DIY job, took me 1 day especially due to fron killer mount.

(sorry for the dirty car, I will re-take pics once I wash it today)

Now, I am offering to run tests. Anybody in Chicago/Milwaukee area that has the "tools" to try a PT on my setup?

I am specifically interested in real life things such as:
    - top of the overpass
    - side overpass/merge ramp
    - front/back shots from the above

    Please PM me. Thanks!

Any reason you didn't install it in the back like you did the front?

Default BMW read LI head placement

Oh yes, they would be way too low and nothing to protect there. The license plate is higher up in the back plus tail lights. Putting them in the bumper won't serve me.

In Front, I have the license plate low, plus fog lights. So I placed them there to cover all these spots, it;s within 10" of everything (headlight, license plate and fog lights).

Plus, not to mention, I had to cut in the front bumper 5mm aluminum and that was no joke ;-)

bubbles should be on the outside on the front heads.

No no, they are there like that on purpose. The bubble is the "detector" part of it as per Vedran (and diodes are on the other end of the head). So, I needed it closer to license plate but due to where the bumper strip is placed, I had less choice and I didn't want to cut into the paint job.

So, the "detector" head is placed as close as possible to License plate and trully same distance from center headlight so I should catch any shot at front of my car from any <300 ft distance as well.

The back ones are with bubbles out because of same reason, I had no space to move them sideways towards the tail lights so I put bubbles as far as possible.

Thats correct Rob, reason being the bubbles are the receiving end which will be closer in the cone of laser.

I hate to say you are wrong but you are. Seeing as most Laser is shot at an angle to youe car you want to have the recievers on the outside.

Look at the install on that was done by Ivan the creator of the LI on Roy's RV(video)
the two lower heads had the recievers on the outside. the upper heads had the reievers on the inside

It makes perfect sense because for the laser beam to shot the car is will be detected easier. Also if the officer is aiming at the corner of the head light or your side veiw mirror the LI has a better chance of recieving the alert

Technically yes, but real life scenario:
    1. LEO aims and shoots at License plate first (his best shot at close range)
    2. Since he was staring through that scope for long his hands are less than steady so chances to "paint around" are huge
    3. If no reading he will pan to headlight...
    4. Since the pond has crazy lot fishes.. he will just shoot for another car unless he is really pissed on mine. I dont plan to JTG, I live in IL and here it's "sligthly illegal"

but, real life again shots under 300ft he has NO time to really pan to headlight till I'm past him. 300 ft means few secs for him. If he does this trick at higher distance the laser cone will be big enough for the 2 inches bubble position to not matter.

I have been testing jammers long enough and seen hiow company reps mount their jammers and it is always with the recievers out to the Side.

Ask stealth specialist RacerX and he will tell you that the recievers always go wide.

I know the reciever of the LI and I can tell you that mounting the bubbles out is how it is done!!!! Heck thats how the prototype LI was tested at the AZ event and the company rep/creator was there. I would trust his opinion the most

Example of what happens it the real world where laser is not shot head on

The reciever closer to the corner of the vehicle is how it should be done
