Finally got my LI installed last Friday. Category4 had generously offered to help me with my self-install, but work kept getting in the way. I took the car to Bill Head at Auto Radio in Tucker, and he did a fantastic job. Bill's shop had done 3 cars for me in the past, including one previous jammer; and has always done great work. If anyone is interested in his contact info, PM me.
I'd already wired my V1 in a semi-hardwire self install. I ran the 8ft cable that comes with the V1 in the seam between windshield and passenger visor, down the A-pillar, under the glove box to the aux 12 volt.
Bill mounted the LI CPU above the driver's footwell, with the kill switch between the driver's seat and the e-brake. The kill switch also disables the aux power for the V1, so I can quickly silence the alerts. There is also a VERY bright blue LED at the junction of the driver's A-pillar and the dash tied to the radio-mute. (I'm deaf and have a pretty hard time hearing alerts)
Category4 graciously allowed me to swing by and we tested the setup with his PLIII and LA guns. I was concerned that the heads were recessed too far, and still may move them forward a half inch if real-world testing shows and PT. Cat4 was able to get me at close range on the tail light, but in straight-ahead testing, the LI appears to work well. I'm looking forward to testing other guns in more real-life situations, but I'm satisfied that the system works. There is an annoying delay between jamming and auditory/visual alert, but I'm glad the processor is working on timing those pulses (and getting them right) instead of letting me know. HUGE thanks to Category4 for his help in testing and advice on the purchase of LI. Glad I went this route.
