Cool 2001 Camry Gadget Installs (Bel STi, Uniden Pro510xl, Garmin 200, more)

A few of these have been posted a long time ago, but I just got my CB setup done, so I figured I'd "give the tour" once more.

Equipment which has been added to the car is as follows:
    • Pioneer DEH-3800MP head unit (and upgraded speakers, added sub/amp)
    • Garmin Nuvi 200 w/updated maps, hardwired
    • Beltronics STi Driver with ramp-up fix
    • Uniden Pro-510XL (peaked to 15w)
    • Astatic D104M6B powermic
    • Cheap-o external CB speaker beside seat
    • Hardwired iPod connection

It's taken a long time to gradually add all these toys in, but I sure do enjoy them!

Any questions, feel free to ask.

I love your choice for the STi's remote speaker mounting location. Dang, why didn't I think of that for my 9500ci's remote speaker?

Actually, that remote speaker is for the CB radio. I just use the built-in with the STI.

I think that is for the CB...because the speaker is at the bottom of the 510/520's...

EDIT: Had I been just a few seconds quicker...

Correct. The speaker has actually been removed from that radio and the speaker's mounting holes have had a nut glued on the inside with screws run up through the bottom of that plastic pocket and into them to mount the cb securely.

    Very nice! Great install!

But don't let REBinc see that because he would have flush mounted the CB in the radio console then moved the Bel display into the gauge cluster with the remote speaker wired into the stereo and dove tailed the CB antennae into the rear defrost antenna. Then after all that, had the iPod integrated into the rearview mirror with a custom "reflex actuator" to select songs by thought.

Then tore it all out six months later because he thought it was too "cobby"
