    Default Road Trip Preperation

To start off the story, last November I hit a deer. The body shop was kind enough to let me hold onto the damaged bumper, so I took the liberty of fixing it up

This is what I started with:

    Complete Progress:

    Bondo:

    Paint:

While installing the temporary bumper, I level the 9500ci antenna.

The antenna is has nothing metallic blocking it's view past 180º

    Grills Off:

    Grills On:

We'll see how mind blowing the performance increase is to decide if I want the grills in or out. I don't think the difference will be much and I like the more stealth look.

I'm definitely interested to see some tests of the CI radar performance with and without the grille. That's a hot topic.

Very nice work with the Bondo! Is that your first time working with it? Cool idea to have a road bumper.

I figure I'll leave this bumper on until Languy's Invitational, it's a lot easier to take of the grills on this one and I'd like to test it too. I'm hoping it shows no difference, we'll see though.

This was the first thing I've ever bondo'd, I'm happy with the results. Still need to get better at painting.

Ohh, sorry to see that, but nice work on the repair of the bumper and placement of the 9500ci.

I like the look of grills off personally. However, if there were some way to recess the grills about half an inch maybe to the depth of where the plastic air ducts start I think it would look even cooler.

Nice work on the bumper repair as well!

lol, I didn't even see this post before. It's a GTO, so it's the stateside version of the Holden Monaro.

I used Krylon for plastics. It went on pretty good, but it didn't hold up to the road. I have a bunch of chips after 3k miles on it that are now white because of the bondo underneath. I think I'm going to try to find some automotive paint and redo it.
